The previews and the hype for this new Star Wars got me semi-interested. :ld:

31 years old, breh. Star Wars was so ingrained in pop culture while I was growing up. It was literally everywhere.
The plot and the characters have been parodied so much, I felt like I understood without actually watching it. :manny:

Space Balls was one of my favorite movies as a kid and it mainly told me all that I needed to know. Also, Super Star Wars on SNES was dope.:smugfavre:

I'm just wondering, tho. With Star Wars being as big as it is, how many other people have not see it, and why?:ohhh:

I plan on maybe watching them one day, but I procrastinate and don't do things I say I'll do. :ehh:

i feel you bro. as a little kid in the late 80's and early 90's star wars was pretty inescapable. a lot of my friends had the toys and all that shyt, and just like you i used to love spaceballs and all that shyt without ever having seen the movies. for whatever reason star wars just wasn't a "thing" in my house growing up. :yeshrug:

someone bought me the vhs trilogy boxset in 95 i think, i was already 10 years old. didn't even bother to watch them. in fact i didn't watch them for the first time until 97 when the movies were re-released in theaters for the special edition. that's when i finally popped the tapes in the first time and watched them with my brother.

:ohlawd: haven't looked back since.

Ok joking aside, I got into it around 96 when the special editions were about to come out and shadows of the empire came out for N64 and that was my launching pad. Shadows was so dope to me I just had to dive into that world so my mom got the trilogy for me on VHS, the THX remastered ones, not the special edition ones. And they were just fun movies with easy to follow stories and a mythology that I liked as a 10 year old.

I got a question about that..should we disqualify that and the matrix since they made our top 10 of all time list?
i don't think so

some people did not include movies they had on their top 10 horror in the top 10 suspense/mystery thread even though they could have qualified for both(psycho)

but i don't think we should outright eliminate them.

maybe personal choice :manny: @kp404

the one that has me scratching my head is E.T. on how to classify it

Fantasy. I don't really think of it as Science fiction at all

I'd say it's more of an adventure film.. I just checked IMDB put its as adventure/family/sci fi

what about ghostbusters..pure comedy?
