If you front on either I got to raise an eyebrow. No but Black Panther better be day one for you then
If you are Black and watched DD and JJ like OP claims fronting on Luke shows a lack of self-respect. Seriously, Luke Cage looks boring compared to JJ? I don't see it.No. but you might someone in need of a dictionary lol.
If it doesn't look like it's your thing then don't watch it. There's no rule that says all black people must watch any and everything with a black person in it or about a black person or else. Now I know on the coli that's blasphemous because this board feels like we should all be a collective hive mind like the borg or the agents from the matrix, but that's not reality. Do you homie

If you are into the genre how can you not support? If you say, "I don't like horror." Then yes, bypass all in the genre including those that feature Black people. Not really. It's about what interest you. Like I said there's no rule. Spider man was always more interesting to me than any other hero black white or otherwise. Always been that way and probably always will be. If someone told me I can watch a spider man movie or tv show or watch Luke cage I'm picking spider man. That's just how it is. And it has nothing to do with race and everything to do with what interest me personally.
Him saying cage looks boring is a matter of personal taste and race doesn't define personal taste. If that was the case we'd all rush out to see haunted house and haunted house 2 and fifty shades of black. Not everything is for everybody. We all have things that hit our interest points in our brains and things that don't. If the man feels like Luke cage doesn't look like something he's interested in but daredevil or Jessica Jones is, it's not my place to tell him he's wrong because I'm not him.

And there are no rules, you have the right not to like or like whatever. But there are no rules the other way as well. People are allowed to judge you negatively on your choice as well. If the scrutiny doesn't matter to someone why ask about it? Unless . . .
Yeah, no one said get everything but how about the very few ones that feature your ethnicity? Like I said, if I see a Black comic book fan and all he supports are titles with white heroes. I'm gonna have a negative view of that. Most people can live with that and keep it moving. This thread starter is asking so . . .I can't speak on why he asked. He's gotta answer that one on his own.
And just because you're into the genre doesn't mean everything will be for you. I love comic books but I don't purchase every single book that drops on a Wednesday. I support the books I like and the writers I like and then I'm done. That's the beauty of choice.

How are you proud of someone and hope they succeed but never support their movies? Isn't your pride and support just hollow words? It sounds nice to say but is it real in any tangible way?Whereas I wouldn't. You gotta support what you like first and foremost. If I pick up a Luke cage book and it just doesn't move me I'm not going to keep buying it just because. Just like I don't see every Denzel movie just because. There's gotta be something intrinsically appealing about it past the initial idea of race. The people who love black panther. I mean genuinely love him, do so because of the dope character he is while also being black royalty. But if he was just black royalty but a boring or terrible character with boring or terrible books I doubt they'd still be die hard fans. Just like the number of cats in here who don't go see the latest Kevin hart movie. I feel like all of us are proud that he's doing his thing and want him to succeed but his movies don't appeal to all of us which is fine.
