Baby boomers did this shyt to people. Everything is upside down from 40 years ago, coming out of college with $100-150K in debt????

Then wonder why young people don't give a fukk about the system. The changes are profound, they just don't have money like we did even when we were "broke" and yong

A lot of y’all old heads still don’t get it.

Young folks are opting out because the “American Dream” folks sold to other generations is basically DEAD.

folks would raise whole families and own homes, and cars, working factories and other blue collar jobs back in the day.

that shyt isn’t a reality anymore in most places…so why is it a surprise nobody wants to slave anymore???

Millenials know this and are in the same boat....side hustle and being a career that is lucrative are the ways out...

it's easy to have this attitude if ur living with your parents and have no responsibilities.

when u got kids and people that depend on you, u cannot adhere to this entitled mindset.

Respectfully shut the fukk up, you and all the other old people that peddle this bullshyt, no one forced your broke ass to have children

To underscore the respect I have for you as a man I know about the issues you dealt with, nigggas tryna steal off on/end you, but this take is garbage. I live with a roommate and independently contract to get through school. Even upon graduating if a job doesn't come correct with hybrid/wfh, AND benefots I will continue to be autonomous over my time, and live/work just enough for me

Title is kinda disingenuous. Article's saying people just don't wanna get into the corporate rat race anymore. Being unemployed = doordashing, uber, and all that side hustle shyt.
This I tell everyone who will listen we could force employers to pay wages if more people were comfortable with independent contracting, you're not making ends meet with these bullshyt ass jobs any-fukking-way

Not wanting to be miserable at your job is "entitled" :mjlol:

Also, don't blame millennials and gen z...blame their parents who DID go to work at places that they hated and then had their kids watch them deal with depression, hypertension, early onset arthritis from setting in chairs to long, alcoholism from trying to cope with hating 8 to 10 hours of their lives 5 days a week, etc.

All these millennials and gen z'ers saw their parents deal with all that and have decided...nah, not going out like that.
in some cities that 8-10 is like 12. that commute time of your just sitting in traffic. fukk around and 2-3 hrs of your day is unpaid.. waiting for the weekend :wow:

I know right, yolo life and fukk da man rhetoric go out the window when they get tired of hearing their Mom and Dad get it in..

Or lil Sis or Bro roast you when they bring their HS friends over and you on the Xbox 1 or vaping all day....

Who wants to aspire to be a Baby Boy in 2022?

The reality is: birthrates are rapidly dropping because the heads of Gen Y and Z REFUSE to have kids. Willingly.

So now you got a bunch of childless adults, determined to change the status quo for the better. They aint gonna have kids like your gen (Gen X) until things get better. :sas1:

The game has changed. Especially at a time when baby boomers are retiring due to COVID stress.
Old folk speak like we need to have pride or a sense of duty to something that set us up to fail, and passed the buck on all of it's larger issues (homelessness, climate change, police brutality, etc.) to us. fukk this place, and fukk this economic system. I'd be a whole jackass to bring a kid into this world knowing damn well their life probably suck more than mine has. Clearly Gen X/Boomers didn't even think before reproducing

Whats interesting is how generation Z and millennials all complain about how the boomers had it easy and took all the money, yet everyone breathing now is a descendant of a boomer.

My question is have anyone talked to their elder generation, the people who supposedly have all this money, and asked if they're going to pass all that wealth or take it to their graves?

I think you missed the point.

Boomers were the last generation that could own a car, house, put money into retirement, etc. off 1 job, before inflation went way the fukk outta line with wages.

Nobody is saying boomers personally have millions of dollars they're hoarding and not sharing. We're saying they caught the last train before Reagan blew the fukking station up.

All of this is usually in relation to boomers telling people "just work harder". It's literally impossible now to obtain what boomers did, working what they did.

We just have to get over it and work harder. No one is going to save us out here, Pandemic revealed it. We can sit here in pity or get out here and grind...
