I hate that you all take loudmouth no nothings like Colin Cowherd, seriously.
X1000 - I can't stand people giving these goofballs credence. But I'm always open to discussing Detroit sports when the subject comes up. Colin's bonehead opinion in this case is just the catalyst for the discussion.

Exactly. The question is if Ben Johnson is being hyped a bit too much which quite a few people think is the case.

I think the question overall is silly. He's desired because he's had a top 5 offense 3 years in a row and a lot of the owners want offensive gurus to compliment and build their most expensive commodity on the team. And he comes from a culture that most organizations want to emulate now. I don't think hype has anything to do with it.

Don't forget, he took over when the Lions ended the season 9-8.

The backfield was DeAndre Swift and Jamal Williams. Jamal has been put on the back of a milk carton and Philly didn't elect to keep Swift after he was traded.

It was St. Brown's 2nd year, the no. 2 receiver was DJ Chark who is no longer on the team and TJ Hockenson was traded mid-season.

However after the trade, Detroit TEs accounted for the most TDs in the league.

He made due with what he had and still put together a top 5 offense.

I would argue the Bears have two number ones. (Keenan and DJ) and a great future number one in Rome. The run game is booty but that's 75 percent the fault of the O Line which has been bad since Ditka was frankly.
You are overspeaking, brother..the Olin Kreutz Oline was an excellent one..

I hate the Lions but Ben Johnson does seem to be a great offensive play caller. I just dislike how it seems Dan Campbell is treated like just a figurehead and Ben gets the majority of the credit.

A lot more credit than Aaron Glenn who has a piece mill defense playing amazing.
