Really just exemplifies the motto that power corrupts, but that the meek tend to follow. I agree its okay to lean on the side of pessimism....history has shown us its fair and accurate in doing so. But the scary thing, is that people will tend to do nothing and or follow, wherein all it takes is but a small sample to rebel...people prefer comfort over revolt, even if comfort is being a sex slave. Everyone thinks they would've saved Anne Frank, but the reality is; in 20'-50's Germany, you more than likely would've been a Nazi, or done nothing at all to help.
