When today’s standards are applied it has it’s value but it was a disappointment to go from 5 star album to 3 star album
I don't need to apply today's standards. Disappointment is too temporary an emotion to say something was trash 3 decades later.
Death Row was cold in 1995 musically in comparison to 94. They were coasting off the huge successes of 1994. Snoop wasn't putting out music apart because he was scared of doing life and really wasn't focused.
Plus they were fighting with Time warner in the Censorship battle and a lot of the nikkas on the label got lazy. The only thing that came from Death Row was Dogg Food and St Ides commercials.
Bad Boy was DOMINATING 95 which was probably why Suge started his bully shyt at The Source awards. The shift was coming back East.
Dogg food while a classic album wasn't enough to compete with Bad Boy, Then the Wu dropping Cuban Linx, Liquid Swords and Return of the 36 and Mobb Deep Infamous.
So they bail out Pac and put all the eggs on him and the gamble paid off. Pac work ethic was what made Suge force them to fall in line because mofos were complacent. Snoop didn't choose to do shyt. Suge made that decision

Yall can say this till you blue in the face. That shyt was utter trash, his first No Limit album was better.
Everytime I try to revisit it and see what I missed it gets worse.
