I didn’t see any guilt trip marketing but maybe I haven’t been paying attention
Black Panther has the entire Marvel Disney machine behind it
A Wrinkle in Time is based off of an old book
Wasn’t going to be the same any way
Now I did see Proud Mary to give Taraji my support.
As for this film, it doesn't look interesting at all. Plus it seems geared to 8-15 year olds (and the mom who takes them to see it). I hope it does well but I don't have plans on seeing it.

Who Wenches in it? From the little I have seen of it isn’t the protagonist a little girl? Is she the wench?
Saw the trailer before a Black Panther Screening. First thing that stood out was how horrible the make is. Very distracting.

just from reading the synopsis seems like it's geared toward kids, maybe young adults. that alone would make it smaller. if you're an adult with no kids, or a teen who DGAF about kids movies anymore, why would you see it? those comic movies do numbers because they're simple to digest (tho black panther had some levity) and appeal to all ages - most people want to/don't mind seeing a fight and explosions on the big screen.
