GGG vs Curtis Stevens of all people, did 1.4 million on HBO...that's more than ANY Floyd Mayweather or Adrien Broner fight ever on cable television.

Just leave it alone breh, GGG is more popular than Floyd before he fought Judah & more popular than AB period.

To keep acting like he's a nobody (when he sells tickets, brings in viewers, and is about to fight on PPV) is false and not worth arguing.

And to let you know, the casuals only get behind fighters the hardcore fans bring up...not the other way around. Hardcores beat the drum in the heart beat of Boxing. Hardcore fans started the "Floyd needs to fight Pacquiao" bandwagon, not casuals. Hardcore fans started the "Floyd needs to fight Canelo" bandwagon, not casuals. Hardcore fans started the "Floyd vs DLH" bandwagon, not casuals. Casuals just went along because WE told them it was a good fight.

GGG is the guy who the Boxing public preferred Floyd to fight since 2013 and if not, Thurman would suffice. Instead he's fighting Berto and that's why his numbers are gonna be lower than it has in a long time. THAT'S the reason for lack of buzz...not that other stuff you brought up.

what would be a good split of money for floyd/ggg ppv iyo?

They did record numbers in 2/6 fights. Showtime been in the black with Floyd. They don't care at this point because they bet on Floyd and won.

Neither Maidana fight touched a mil and the Guerrero fight barely scraped it. Showtime was scrambling for the Pac fight becuz the 2nd Maidana fight didn't do what they thought it would do. Showtime was looking at Floyd kinda funny in the light bruh and Stephen Espinoza was getting shat upon from pillar to post. I remember that shyt.

The Canelo fight didn't save them like you think. They NEEDED the Pac fight.

I was gone say 70/30 or 75/25.

80/20 kinda sounds like a robbery. But if I'm GGG I would take the fight becuz I know I can beat him.

I was giving him the same split Canelo took.

If Canelo agreed to 80/20, then GGG could as well being that he's not as big as Canelo was when he fought Floyd:yeshrug:

Now, if GGG vs Lemieux moves 350k or more, Im gonna have to go back and review that split and drop it to around your 70/30 mark:mjpls:

Was there really a re-hydration clause for Canelo? I always thought that was some kinda myth.

I think his power would translate pretty well at 154.

Robert Guerrero breaks down Mayweather-Berto

Robert Guerrero is one of only two men to share a ring with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Andre Berto.

In Nov. of 2012, the 32-year-old former featherweight and junior lightweight titlist beat Berto by unanimous decision. That performance helped him win the sweepstakes to face Mayweather in May 2013. Despite Guerrero’s solid effort, Mayweather won a wide points decision.

Having had training camps geared toward preparing for both Mayweather and Berto, then sharing a ring with each man for 12 rounds, he’s more qualified than most to dissect the upcoming “High Stakes” contest.

“I think it’s a good fight,” Guerrero told RingTV.com. “Berto has been working his way back to the top and he’s won his last few fights. Floyd knows Berto is coming to take him out, so I know he’ll be training hard.”

Guerrero knows both guys’ strengths: “Floyd has a tremendous reach and he uses it well. That’s why those who fight him don’t have a high punch output against him.

“Berto has a lot of heart and that goes a long way in boxing. He’s going to let it all out on fight night.”

He sees little in the way of weakness in Mayweather’s game, though questions Berto’s staying power down the stretch.

“Floyd really has no weaknesses. The only thing that can possibly derail Floyd is that he might get old overnight. I wouldn’t say that’s a weakness but a possible scenario that I highly doubt will happen.

“Berto’s stamina can weaken as the fight gets to the later rounds. He throws a lot of hard punches, so there is a lot of energy being exerted. I would say that is one of his weaknesses.”

Heading into the bout, Mayweather is understandably the pre-fight favorite. Bookmakers Bet365 list the Money Man as high as 80/1 on (-8000) to win the fight.

Guerrero isn’t surprised by the odds: “Mayweather is a heavy favorite for a reason. No one has been able to figure out his puzzle but all it takes is one punch. Berto does have power.”

So what does Berto need to do to pull the upset?

“He must get past Floyd’s jab, which will be very difficult,” explained Guerrero. “His punch output needs to be high and he must go to the body.

“I think Floyd’s going to win by a wide margin but it won’t be easy. Never underestimate the desire of a hungry fighter.”

Earlier this year, Guerrero lost a wide decision to rising star Keith Thurman. The Gilroy-native rebounded in June, getting back in the win column, eking out a 10-round, split decision over fringe contender Aaron Martinez. The usually iron-chinned Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 knockouts) suffered the ignominy of a fourth round trip to the canvas.

Though there are no concrete plans as yet the southpaw boxer-puncher hopes to be back in action soon.

“I’m ready to get back in the ring when my name is called,” he said. [Adviser Al] Haymon will let me know soon.”

ggg has no chance against mayweather at 154
just want that on record
it will be a blow out and ppl will say ggg was drained
i'm confused as to why ppl even want to see this fight:yeshrug:

now floyd moving up to 160 at 40 years old to fight GGG gives GGG the advantage and the chance to beat him

but why exactly should floyd do that:dwillhuh:

GGG ain't even budging for ward because he sees himself as the "A side"
but floyd should go up to 160 at 40 out of his prime to fight GGG
pppl just want a L on his record by any means:russ:

You conveniently left out the Cotto fight too. PPV boxing has been a 4 horse race during Floyd Showtime run with Floyd, Cotto, Canelo, and Pac being the only viable PPV stars. Showtime already had Floyd, Cotto, and Canelo on their ledger before they even got to Pac. That Cotto fight did almost $100M in PPV sales while Canelo did $136M. Showtime will take those figures plus the raised profile on the boxing scene anyday. I'm sure the 6 fight deal was made with the Pac fight in mind, but I'm sure Showtime wasn't banking on Floyd giving them 2 $100M fights before even getting to Pac. Showtime been in the black on this deal and the Pac fight just blew the top off.

Nobody has said this though:dwillhuh:

GGG wants him at 154, it's the best fight out there for Floyd, Floyd doesn't need that fight though since he beat Pacquiao:yeshrug:
