I'd take that with a grain of salt. If they really had money behind them to get Jericho and Omega, they wouldn't be hustling backwards and taking their program to the Backwoods West Virginia network. They're better off becoming a developmental property of AEW

Don Callis and Jimmy Jacobs run creative at Impact, so its not entirely improbable they were close.
In fact Im surprised AEW didnt try and get them but I guess they couldn't

So reports say Jericho and Omega were considering going part-time with TNA before AEW became a thing. :mindblown: What the hell could either one, especially Omega, have to gain there. Would've been a huge hit to their star power, and I can't imagine they'd get paid much.

yall throw too much shade on TNA.
how would they lose star power when casuals are more familiar with TNA than NJPW?

especially seeing that theyre both Canadians and TNA is bigger over there.

I did peep how callis was name-dropping Jericho & omega multiple times on commentary.

I'll admit, TNA can damn near go full capacity at any nightclub in Canada. That's something I've never seen NJPW do.

you know what?

I was thinking about this earlier.

"commercial" would be a better term than "casual".

Trent Baretta and Chuckie T are finishing up with New Japan after they complete their scheduled shows on the New Beginning USA Tour, according to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer notes that Baretta was offered a contract with a big push and booking dates guaranteed throughout the year. Baretta had reportedly spoken to New Japan management prior to his decision to leave and told them he would agree to a new deal, however, he's now backing off from the deal and is on his way out.

There's no word yet on what the future plans are for Baretta and Chuckie T but Meltzer speculates that AEW is a likely alternative because of their good relationships with The Elite.

Kinda sad to see them leave NJPW. I honestly would rather see Baretta stay in NJPW where it felt like they were grooming him for a solo run for awhile. I could see him with the NEVER or U.S. titles.

Great pickups for AEW if that's where they go.
