One thing even hateful ass I have to give Cody credit for is how he's been able to control the narrative about his career of being a self made man despite getting into the business because his dad was one of the legends, he was put on TV not even a year into training and immediately given a big push, a year later he's having PPV feuds with HHH and HBK despite being like....literally 2 years into the game. And his whole gimmick was that of having a legend as a father. In a stable of other guys with legendary fathers. He gets 8 years of constant TV time out of this before leaving, and of course every indie wants to book Dusty Rhodes' son who has been on TV for 8 years. Then he by luck gets to ride on the Bullet Club wave, co-opts Kenny and the Buck's webshow, and now gets to play with a billionaire's money.
All this while getting people to believe he's done this all on his own with hard work and hustle, that he's his own man and doesn't need the Rhodes name, despite constantly mentioning his bloodline. He's put in more hustle into building the narrative of his career than his actual career.
