Same stupid shyt dudes said about AJ, Joe, Nakamura, Punk, Bryan, etc., etc.

"He won't translate to American Audiences" = "He won't get over on the big stage"

Sound like stupid ass shyt you'd hear Vince say :smh:
how are AJ, Joe, Punk, and Bryan in the same category as Omega? Omega made a huge name in japan, not the U.S. He became a hit over there being an anime villain. AJ, Joe, Punk, Bryan were all American wrestlers. Nakamura hasn't made the huge splash that some people claimed. Outside of a couple matches and a cool entrance, he hasn't lit shyt up. Yall can stop assuming Omega gonna get by with his current character. LMAO

In the past year he's headlined All In, SCOH, WOTW, and numerous NJPW shows which all took place in the United States and drew 5-10k fans each so please go sit down with that stupid ass rhetoric breh :snoop:

Kenny Omega is one of the biggest stars in Pro Wrestling period. This is 2019, Not 1988

You're right in 2019, he HELPED draw at certain shows. Every wrestler from 1988 claimed they drew and sold out arena by themselves.

And again, yall think a fukkin anime villain will translate on a week to week basis and be a cornerstone of an american promotion, you're delusional and you're just upset that someone doesn't fawn over your precious japanese wrestling.

Kenny Omega is a significantly bigger United States draw than any of those names pre WWE. Look up those Punk and Joe ROH crowds. Google is free of charge

ROH was a smaller company at the time. And Punk and Joe weren't anime villains.

Kenny not being a draw or not translating to WWE audiences is obviously a stupid argument. He's a draw on multiple continents. WWE audiences immediately bought into Prince Devitt despite Devitt having no US exposure at all and NJ not being nearly as hot or available worldwide like it is now. WWE crowds buy into anyone that's hyped up as some big indie/Japan name. Especially if it's a big debut like at the Rumble or Raw after WM.

The issue with Kenny in WWE is the work schedule and lack of creative freedom that makes him likely to not be a great fit. Kenny is a guy who even as the flag bearer for NJPW only worked every other tour (sometimes not even that much), very rarely uses his free time to take freelance bookings, and has complained about NJ/ROH not letting him do stuff he wants creatively. He definitely at least wants people to think he values that stuff a lot more than the money, and he's been "nah fukk WWE life" for a decade now, so taking the big money is going to get a lot of shyt online for a long time were he to take it.

ROH grew largely based on the Bullet Club. AJ Styles got them to a point then Kenny Omega greatly surpassed him. ROH did 6,000 in New Orleans, NJPW SSE did 4,300, G1 special did 6,300, All In did 11,000. Sold out MSG based on the wave. Those are amazing numbers when you’re talking bootleg television, a YouTube show and word of mouth. How can you not credit this to Kenny Omega over anything else? You can’t point to wrestle mania as being it because ROH ran Mania weekend for years.

Now, will Kenny Omega as an anime villain translate to weekly television and be a cornerstone of a major promotion like AEW is supposed to be? Those are good numbers for indy companies running supercard type shows and special occasion shows like NJPW in the Bay. Let's say AEW runs a weekly episode show in a place like Oklahoma City, are they drawing 11k? Now you have to think people are like "since this isn't a special show and AEW might come to my city or a closer place, i won't go to OKC, I'll just wait..." This is the stuff people have to think about, i'm talking about weekly episodic major promotion stuff. People are referencing special occasion shows.

I don’t see the difference. These promotions don’t have real television and Kenny is drawing and making money. WWE CANT book Kenny in a bullshyt manner because of his potential contract. In pro wrestling, if you’re the highest paid or among the highest paid, they book to your strengths. Vince hates managers and hates Paul Heyman. Who appears with Brock and books all of Brock’s storylines?
