All Elite Wrestling had offered both contracts to Pentagon and Fenix last week. Impact Wrestling said not so fast, and offered the two low six figure numbers per year and would control the outside booking of talent from Impact. Impact would get an obvious cut from these booking dates from outside their company. However, as of yesterday, the Elite tripled the Impact offer to try and land exclusive deals and rights to Pentagon and Fenix. AEW would like to have them at their press conference, along with others in Jacksonville on Tuesday, near Smackdown Live. Pentagon and Fenix will look at the contracts and figure out what deals work for them personally. This is just the beginning for companies starting to lock up talent for their 2019 roster.

Got no clue how reliable this is, although I'm sure AEW wants Penta & Fenix.

Mostly just :wtf: at Impact being in a position to even offer big deals like that & also :dead: at Impact wanting to be the place getting cuts of booking out 2 of the most in demand guys going.

This all sounds believable (down to how delusional Impact is about their bargaining position) because Penta and Fenix have to be the true biggest free agents out there (Omega is not a free agent, he's just making sure his price goes up).

I mean, technically this guy's right. Journalistic integrity is a real thing, and needs to be preserved.......maybe not a big deal when it comes to a guy who basically just spreads Wrassle Gossip to the internet, but still. Also doesn't make this guy sound any less like he's just mad.

:salute: to Dave finding a way to get paid for some shyt he was happily doing for free.

The thing is Meltzer talks about his journalistic integrity/morals so if the story is true he better speak on it. But I figured he was in bed with them she knows way too much about their moves.

I don't even know if Penta & Fenix are real free agents though because a couple months back when WWE reports came around, it came out later that they still had Lucha Underground deals to get through. Then MLW announced they had them booked though 2019.

Everybody covering wrestling has went full on crazy as soon as AEW was really announced talking about who they could sign or who is leaving where they are now like anybody knows who has contracts with somebody or when they expire.

They want outside booking?! :laff:

That's how they've operated since the end of the Asylum days. Also a big reason why you saw so little of TNA talent doing outside dates for most of their existence. Not only would they get a booking fee, they'd also get to control and approve any booking, so most guys just stopped working indies because no one wanted to deal with TNA's office.

I don't read Meltzer at all aside from what gets posted here, so I'll have to take your word for it.

If so, he should've known that someone was going to eventually question his relationship with them. Breh still should've gone all the way with it and at least said his name in the tweet.

If Kenny Omega doesn't sign with AEW, does that immediately make it hard to take seriously as a competitor?

As long as they keep tha goofy Indy stuff out, they’ll succeed. No Joey Ryan, the kid who throws the invisible grenade, stupid comedy spots, the stuffed animal dude.
