To add onto the bolded, they can't put title belts on everyone and their writing staff seems incapable of pushing more than 1-2 people at a time and promoting tag teams not named New Day, Usos, and The Bar. Not to mention stifling creativity when it gets hot, like killing Zack Ryder's buzz.

To be fair, that ended being a great decision. They gave him a Mania moment. He reached his ceiling, and he's an average performer at best. If they are really targeting the Zigglers and Ryders of the world, they better not be anything more than midcard acts.

That Ryder mania win was in 2016, he was hot in 2011. He should have quit WWE and went for it when he was hot, but he was too p*ssy.

Some guys are just happy to get them checks, and if nothing else, he got a moment on the biggest stage possible. I think he maximized everything that he could've gotten from his career. He wasn't a great performer anyways. Still, he deserves respect for being one of the first guys to understand how to create buzz on social media.

If Meltzer conned Cody and the Bucks to paying him as a consulttant when he already does free advertising and good ol' shilling for them I'd kinda respect him more for it. Just out carnying the carnies :russ:

I mean, technically this guy's right. Journalistic integrity is a real thing, and needs to be preserved.......maybe not a big deal when it comes to a guy who basically just spreads Wrassle Gossip to the internet, but still. Also doesn't make this guy sound any less like he's just mad.

:salute: to Dave finding a way to get paid for some shyt he was happily doing for free.

– Chris Jericho’s graphic designer has sparked speculation among wrestling fans after sharing a countdown clock on social media. You can see the clip below, which from the time it was posted would count down to February 1st.

Jericho trollin everybody, watch this end up being new tour dates for Fozzy :russ:

Say he quit in 2011....where was he going to go? Sinclair wasn't putting any money into ROH, NJ was a different place and also didn't have the relationship with ROH yet, there was nothing like AEW out there to offer him money, Mexico ain't booking him, PWG isn't booking him, there's no House of Hardcore....so....TNA? What a great career move that would have been.

Worked for Christian. If Ryder left the company and failed and was brought back like Hawkins, Shelton, Rhyno and Jinder, he’d be a face jobber. His exact spot today. He should have went for it

Big differences in those situations:

Christian was a significantly better talent, both in ring and out
Christian was a more well known talent, having been a featured performer for most of the Attitude Era and heavily featured in the RA era
TNA was arguably at its hottest and most relevant, and the intention all along was that he'd come back when he was ready to come back and wanted to show he could be a top level player for a company, and this was coming after WWE had already been flirting with him as a main event guy anyway

Zack Ryder sucks in the ring, sucks at promos, and in 2011 TNA was ruined to the point of no return, on a path they still haven't recovered from 8 years later, all while, at absolute best, WWE saw Ryder as a mid card champion and even then had him drop the title right away

Ryder would have had a Sandow like career had he left in 2011. He had zero leverage, and definitely not the skill nor the scene to raise his stock outside of WWE at that time.

PWG was definitely booking him, they booked Curt Hawking when he left the E' and he wasn't even half the "star" (hard quotes on this one) Ryder was.

And if Ryder wanted a puro booking he could've gotten one. At the very least in All Japan, ad if he had a good run there then he could've gotten an offer from New Japan eventually :manny:

By the way, I think Ryder sucked as a talent and dude was smart as hell maximizing the power of social media and his ingenuity. But he could've made good money besides WWE and probably gotten a 2 year run before getting an offer to come back :manny:
