Cody's opponent at Double Or Nothing is Dustin Rhodes

That's a damn good video package. I hope he's just Dustin Rhodes (I'm fine with the face paint being used as a nod to his Goldust persona) and they don't do some lame Black Reign ripoff gimmick.

I was hoping he'd be brought into AEW. Hopefully they use him in a behind the scenes role after this.

jerking himself off again :mjlol: how is this supposed to be different from the WWE again?

I’ve been as positive as it gets about AEW but this has nothing to do with a ‘pure sports presentation’ nor does it have to do with ‘wins and losses mattering’ Certainly not what any fan asked for

So now they're not allowed to do matches with just emotional stakes?:dahell:

People said the same thing about the Nick Aldis match at 'All In', by the way, and that ended with them getting a standing ovation.

Same people already bought their tickets to see this and will more than likely be into it.. :yeshrug:

What’s the emotional stakes? It’s a 33 year old brother against a 50 year old brother with a recently deceased father. What personal issue can you make up with that? At least with Aldis they made a great story about restoring the NWA title.

In fairness, they're both on the record as wanting to have one big match against each other while they were in WWE, and it never came together the way they wanted it. Having it happen at the first show for the new company Cody is running probably means a lot to them.

I had no clue All In had done so mediocrely outside of the gate/venue (which was undeniably impressive though) :leon:

Dave Meltzer was asked about ALL IN pay-per-view buys during Wrestling Observer Radio and he said that he knew the number for internet buys was around 20,000, therefore he would imagine that the pay-per-view purchase number can’t be higher than that.

“I have no guess so I don’t know the number. I’ve asked around and I don’t have a number. I’m sure if the number was real big I would know it. It’s illogical that it’s too small because I know they did 20,000 on the internet and there’s no way that you’re doing more on the internet than you’re doing on television. That’s just ridiculous. But you know, if it did 80,000 on television, I got to think I would know that.”

Considering we are 5 weeks away, they better start promoting the fukk out of this show because so far it has less than 10% of the hype All In had :lupe:

Having all of their stars going dark and rarely making any appearances for months never made much since to me but time will tell

Perhaps they can make it a ‘Cody closes the door to his past’ type story. There’s only so many times that he can use Dusty memory to fuel a storyline

Aidis restored the feeling by just holding the NWA belt like a baby:wow:
