Just was just on my YT feed and I watched just before coming here. Looks potentially good, albeit in that familiar tropes territory.
Jeffrey Wright should be above this
I was thinking it seemed a little low brow for him. I think if his goal is making a difference and changing the narrative for fellow black/brown people, then you have to meet people where they are at and in the long run, the ends justify the means.
Definitely felt like the trailer gave away the entire plot line too.

Didnt know this had a thread. But it's a mixture of every major hood movie plus Snowfall, rolled into one. Singleton influence is clearly scene in the feel of the film. The violence in here is very gritty. Main flaw is that its 2 hours. Could gave been cut way shorter and still develop the characters. What I like about the main character is that hes able to convey emotions without words.
Fell asleep on it last night because i had gone on a big bike ride earlier in the afternoon, but it looked like a decent flick. Might run it back again tonight. Funny song Leon from snowfall in it. I liked seeing all the familiar locations too.
