Plus this Janine woman, you see I even forgot about Kali Uchis, these artists are the biggest artists in the genre right now, just check their views, it’s just something I’ve been noticing ever more recently, there’s a time I could name Jill Scott Angie Stone Erykah Badu India Arie Lauryn Hill Amel
Laurrieux Goapele Ledisi without thinking I just think the number of black women souk singers are even dying down or being pushed to the back burners?
I wouldn’t call these girls soul, especially not against the names you just posted like erykah, Jill, etc except snoh and some of kali. And it’s like the same two people post that janine chick in the same way I post Niia - they ain’t popping.

There is a soul scene over in them Norwegian countries, can’t be mad at them for appreciating and making that type of music.

But as far as these girls, they’ve carved a lane and have music people go to for something - it’s “bae music” and it’s easy to throw the hashtag “#mood” on on your social media. But these girls haven’t cracked radio, they still have a ceiling.

And There are still way more black female singers, we didn’t even get into Ella mai, khelani, jhene, solange, Tiffany gouche, nao, jazmine Sullivan, mereeba, Jamila woods, etc. black music is just “bigger” so there’s not just one sound black women are going after whereas there is only about 1-2 sounds these non black singers do

Haven't completely dove into this with a focused mind but so far it's her best album. Only song i don't like is that Smino shyt.

That's Snoh's second album and tbh Sabrina Claudio still has her beat. About Time and Truth is both better.

Yeah that track with Smino was ass:mjlol:
I felt she was chasing a sound with that song.

You just really just love breathy whispery vocals. Sabrina’s song lyrics, voice and overall production aren’t touching snoh’s. Sabrina is such a narrow artist to me, she has some cuts but wow, y’all are overrating her
This is the first time Snoh has impressed me for a full album from top to bottom. That last album definitely wasn't it and it had a bunch of rap singles. Felt like she was trying to chase some weird sound mixed with rap influence. This recent sht she put out is great I won't lie. Sabrina's music just better right now. Only reason Sabrina hasn't grown that much from 2017 is cause she hurt her career with them dumb ass comments

Those comments didn't effect her career at all lol. We're talking about some old tweets when she was in junior high lol. Still didn't stop wale, asap, and others from collaborating. Sabrina hasn't grown cuz her music isn't mainstream

Comments may stunt popularity, but they don’t stunt artistic growth. Sabrina is what she is, I ain’t made at it, but she’s one note.

That Nas joint is the one man. That song is something else. And it's the best Nas has sounded to me in wild long

her popularity definitely stagnated fam. She was being heavily supported by the industry and not just rappers. Now you dont hear her music talked about unless you a big fan or on a forum

@G Fazo

She was suppose to get some steam during The Weeknd tour this year. She’s heavily connected to Salxo and that whole clique. She’ll ain’t goin anywhere.

plus she got a new track with Black Coffee.

Only gave it one spin, but it didn't sound like anything great. Decent listen, but doubt I'll go back to it much. Maybe I need to give it more listens. I'll say what most people have said, her best album was Urban Flora, and that was because of the production behind her sound.

Alina definitely has her own lane and makes a certain type of music. It is some nice shyt to put on in the background, but I got to want to listen to it. I think her and Sabrina make somewhat similar music. I would say Sabrina has a bigger following and knows her lane, whereas Alina is still experimenting as her projects all sound a little different.

I was hoping for a better album, but I got to give it another listen.

It just ain't the same without galimatias. He put that signature touch.

You just can't replace good chemistry & it's been proven time & time again.

This project was ok with a few standout, like off the grid, Frank, more than enough, say you know me but it's the same generic tone of singing as everybody else.
