Medically induced comas are used when the person has serious distress to the brain and are not common. They are usually a last resort type of thing from what I’ve read. If it’s for smoke inhalation, it means his brain may have been damaged from lack of oxygen. I really really hope it’s just a pro cautionary measure.

Details of Thursday morning's crash​

What we know:

An official with the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed with FOX 11 that officers responded to a vehicle that had crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree in the 7900 block of Corbin Avenue, in LA's Reseda neighborhood, just before 5 a.m.

LA City firefighters also responded to a possible entrapment call and responding firefighters discovered the Tesla vehicle on fire.

LAFD officials said an 18-year-old was taken to the hospital in serious condition. However, his name has not been released.

TMZ reportedly viewed images from the crash site that showed the Cybertruck was completely mangled.

Problem is the self driving function. I don't trust that shyt one bit. They've given out monthly trials in the last year or so to get current owners to bite. It's cool, but I'd say it's at roughly 85% of where it needs to be and that other 15% is HUGE. Can't be fukkin around. Main reason I bought my shyt was my crazy commute to work which is majority interstate driving. Using the Self Driving was aite, but there were still spots where I was like ehhhh. I'm good with the Autopilot cruise which keeps you in between the lines.

If shyt pops out in front of you, others doing some crazy shyt, you not paying attention. It can all go left real fast. Sounds like he swerved and crashed into the hydrant and the car then caught fire.
