Ridley Scott doesn't like James Cameron's sequel?
It's funny, because even though they forced that plot point... It didn't bother me. The station being split in half with Romulus and Remus represented both movie. One side was Alien and the others was Aliens. As soon as they went to the other half... Film tone change too.

Which I thought was great. Nobody really talks about it.

I thought the search was for the origin of human life.

The whole aliens and bio chemical storyline was just a what he stumbled upon

It’s really all about the engineers

And that’s why we need a Prometheus sequel :beli:
And he wanted to live forever, that was said when his old frail ass appeared on the ship

This looked way better in IMAX than I was expecting. The set design and score was top notch. Not sure how I want to rank this one yet cause I have some things I love and some stuff that drags the film. Especially for the third act but not for the obvious reasons, I think the final act loses some of the tension and horror elements than earlier scenes and I think Fede could’ve fleshed it out more. I thought some of fan service was a bit forced but overall I loved it.

Got to say I was impressed by the breh that played the android, and their relationship was interesting and felt natural when the plot progresses to a certain scene, but that’s also where I feel the tension is lowered .

Also seeing the second and third act exposition makes me realize why Ridley was cool with allowing this to be made :russ:

EDIT: I was also expecting more gore to be honest as well.

saw it.
1. wasn’t scary enough
2. too many corny and poorly placed callbacks to the original film
3. andy :mjpls: but the guy that plays him is a good actor. idk i just hate how they characterized him i was not feeling that.
4. protagonist was kind of whatever. not nearly as strong or compelling as sigourney or sanaa in avp
5. side characters were bland

overall felt a little hollow. like all the way around. but the effects with the outside views of the ships against the rings were very cool.

Breh there was no major bang out with the aliens :dahell:

What was ALIEN 5 supposed to be?

I fell like after this movie success any scrapped Alien move can now get the green light

And just maybe they reboot Prometheus and we get 1-2 more films :blessed:

Neil Blomkamp wanted to made a direct sequel to Aliens.

Sigourney Weaver would have returned as Ripley.

Everything was a go but then Scott then got it cancelled so Alien Covenant could be made instead.

And breh this movie was a backdoor prometheus reboot.

Didn't you notice
that the movie ended the same way as Prometheus? final fight against an Engineer, final two characters are a male android and human woman. On a ship carrying the black goo and set to travel to a new world? All that is a left is for them to link up with David and find his experiments like in Alien Covenant :dead:

Yea I’m guessing they realized the mistake they made in cutting off the Prometheus storyline

But this ending was slightly different

The characters Prometheus was looking for the origins of life and the engineer planet

In Romulus the girl and android are just escaping for a better life

But they got the goo:leon:

So anything is possible :banderas:

Yeah this movie was a snoozefest. All the characters were bland. There were way too many
of the small aliens running around all CGI'd
which took away the suspense imo.

Saw this in imax today and as a theater experience this shyt worked great. The sound was absolutely crazy and visually this shyt looked very good. Took my lady and she was shook. Still is. :pachaha:

As an Alien movie it's a pretty good one. I have some nitpicks. Some shyt didnt work. But most did. Love the Alien Isolation vibes.

Overall this is a solid movie that needs to be seen at the theater. This isn't gonna hit the same at home.

On first watch it gets a high rating: 7/10
