Really live in the reality of the best director in the Alien Franchise is James Cameron... Who turned it into an horror action film. Lmao.Prometheus was one of the biggest disappointments in my movie going life. Saw it in Vegas on opening night (which happened to be my birthday). I left the theater angry as a motherfukker.. if it wasn't for seeing Andrew Dice Clay later that nice and some cocaine I might have swung on someone.
Covenant wasn't much better... Damn you Ridley.
Holding out faith.
I adore the first two Alien movies but admittedly have fallen out of love with both Ridley and James. Both have very large egos and have made mistakes because of it. Ridley flubbed Alien with his two Prequels and Terminator has been an embarrassment for a long time with some of the worst elements being because of Cameron's direct input. Cameron recently distanced himself from the Romulus And it just seems like he doesn't like the direction of the new movie and is a tad salty as a result. Obviously I haven't seen the film yet, but it's clearly taking more inspiration from the first rather than the second.Prometheus was one of the biggest disappointments in my movie going life. agreed. skew young to the point none of the cast seems capable of piloting a spaceship, make it "scarier" but it just looks like a total rehash. i have a free movie ticket expiring this month and can't decide if i'm going to this or Beetlejuice, which i fully expect to follow in the long line of legacy comedy sequels that you leave the theater going, "that was pretty good" then never think of again for the rest of your life. This feels like a throwaway, use existing IP for a quick buck film. The trailer did nothing for me.
I wasn’t sure about Beetlejuice because I saw the OG about 2 years ago and I just wasn’t feeling it. It was the first time I saw it since I was a kid.agreed. skew young to the point none of the cast seems capable of piloting a spaceship, make it "scarier" but it just looks like a total rehash. i have a free movie ticket expiring this month and can't decide if i'm going to this or Beetlejuice, which i fully expect to follow in the long line of legacy comedy sequels that you leave the theater going, "that was pretty good" then never think of again for the rest of your life.
I still think Prometheus is fantastic. Watched it a few days ago. Okay its not really Alien, but its a fascinating story with real tension. Covenant is kind of mid but definitely has its moments. Still want to see the conclusion of that series.
Production values are off the charts. But the characters suck and plot is all over the place. You don't care when the crew scarafices themselves to stop the ship headed toward earth because you dgaf about them.I still think Prometheus is fantastic. Watched it a few days ago. The highs of Prometheus are fuccin' . But the movie as a whole under delivered on the hype that it came with I think, and falls a part a little when I start to poke some of the plot issues etc.
Anyone that followed the movie knows it had all time great potential. Once the studio got involved and brought garbage ass Damon lindelof on board to do rewrites is why we have the complaints we have now. Ridley was cooking and the studio interfered as usual. I’ll never watch anything lindelof is involved with for how he butchered the story.Production values are off the charts. But the characters suck and plot is all over the place. I like some scenes and ideas but it's a dumb movie in the end.
