I don't know why it matters though. If she's like most Puerto Ricans she identified as racially mixed growing up, not Black. She's never identified as Black or been treated by society as Black, it's always been as Latina/mixed. Whether or not she has some Black genes really isn't that important, it doesn't give her a Black experience. She certainly hasn't had the White experience either though, FWIW.
