Yeah why didn't they say boyfriend... They accidentally came out for her
I've never heard a woman call their boyfriend or husband a partner.

I mean it could.

I remember the first guy I heard say "partner" for his girlfriend. He was a young white college professor, like 10 years ago. I think they do it so because it's more "equal" to not use automatically heterosexual words or something.

:childplease: Congresspeople make $174K, ain’t nobody forced to sleep in their office bro :mjlol:
I don't know about "forced", but don't forget that they're living in two places at once. They might have a mortgage to pay in expensive-ass New York AND have to rent an apartment in expensive-ass D.C. Taking care of their family on that salary. Plus all the costs of being on the go constantly, eating all your food out, dressing up to the office and probably having to keep the wardrobe available in both places.

I'm one of those people who live off of nothing when I want to, but I can see how it would actually be tough.

My thing is the median income of DC is about a third of the congressional income, so “tough” is relative. I believe congressional income should be indexed to median income of district or something.

I agree with what you say about tough being relative. Like I said, I wouldn't have trouble making it. But I'd also be one of the ones sleeping in my office to save a buck - and why rent an apartment to only use parttime in a city where people have trouble finding places?

But a lot of them maintain homes where they live...did you think about that?

Plus its their aides who are REALLY struggling
You're right, I totally forgot to feel bad for the Two Homes b*stards making 6 figures. It must be really expensive and burdensome to pay undocumented workers to come by and water the begonias at your second home while you're having steak dinners with lobbyists in Georgetown. These people are the real heroes.

:wow:
