The only other person up for speaker was more right wing than Pelosi. She did the right thing, no one on the left was willing to cross Nancy specifically Barbara Lee who was the only qualified person who might have interest. Calling her mama bear I'm hoping is strategy.
Real Progressives are a minority in Congress right now so you have to be savvy and not wear your intentions on your sleeve. Otherwise, they will see you coming from a mile away and put the kobash on your efforts before you even get started. She is playing the long game and that's what's necessary for our side right now.
Exactly. How is going along to get along in the chambers, while tuff talking outside of it, spark changes you claim to be aboutFell in line when it was time to put their money on the line
When i read she called her mama bear, i was completely disgusted.
It would also send a signal to Pelosi and most likely garnered retribution.I would agree with this if AOC was the deciding vote...far from it, Pelosi had it locked up...220 to 192. The citizens give politicians too much wiggle room to weave in/out of their supposed political ideologies
She could've abstain from voting for a corporate dem (especially the stimulus packages), to send a signal to her base and colleagues but she voted for mama bear then revamped her staff to include DC swamp regulars, and is still allowed to spew rhetoric about progressive/lefties solutions
Warren justify taking corporate money because "the other side is doing it and I'm trying to get elected" encourages indifferent/jilted citizens
...which evokes such a questionIt would also send a signal to Pelosi and most likely garnered retribution.

It doesn't but neither does going against the political machine just cause like you said they already had the votes. If she did abstain Pelosi would have peeped game, given her no committee appointments she wants, undermined all her policy proposals and try to handicap her re-election. Let's take the mask off when we are ready to win. That's the goal not being right all the time....which evokes such a question
which makes it the career climbing blueprint of swamp regulars. So she needs to stay in her lane of being an inspiring swamp regular and stop regurgitating/waterdown views/philosophies of the frustrated citizens, if she's not about that life when it countsIt doesn't but neither does going against the political machine just cause like you said they already had the votes. But you admitted the house speaker vote, her vote wouldn't make a difference this it doesn't fall under the 'when It counts' scenario.which makes it the career climbing blueprint of swamp regulars. being that it wasn't such a scenario, Pelosi scoffing at the medias' hyping of the squad's influence, and Pelosi's mastery of the theatrics, AOC making such a symbolic gesture more likely wouldn't hurt her in the eyes of a career politicianBut you admitted the house speaker vote, her vote wouldn't make a difference this it doesn't fall under the 'when It counts' scenario.
Did she vote for the stimulus?being that it wasn't such a scenario, Pelosi scoffing at the medias' hyping of the squad's influence, and Pelosi's mastery of the theatrics, AOC making such a symbolic gesture more likely wouldn't hurt her in the eyes of a career politician
Fast forward to the stimulus vote, with the predicted criticism of it after voting for it...she showing you who she is, believe her
which stimulus vote you refer to? Heros yes, Cares was unanimous but chances yes because of the amount of pressure/spotlightDid she vote for the stimulus?

of course they should if they have leverageWhat are you angry about ? Nobody in their right mind is going to vote against stimulus during a worldwide pandemic
of course they should if they have leverage
If either party wanted to give citizens $6k stimulus checks, that would've happened due to the need for votes
why not $60 or $6k...arbitrary numbers when dealing with a very cooperative fed reserveWasn't the extra $600 with unemployment Bernie's idea? That was a progressive move.. can't win them all
