If she is going to wait until 2024 the easier play would be going after Kirsten Gillebrand's spot.

Yea Chuck is too entrenched in the NYC party infrastructure even if he’s soft as baby shyt. Gillebrand is a hack from upstate who will be easier to attack for all the opportunistic positions she’s jumped to over the years. AOC will be better off being the outside voice for the first Biden term and have major capital going into 2024

If she has any presidential ambitions she'll have to get a governor or senator seat first, to prove she can pull upstate rednecks as much as the yuppies in Queens... Chuck is 69, I reckon he has some years left in the seat and he won't be eager to give up a possible Senate Majority leader position. Plus his machine is formidable.

Maybe if Cuomo decided to run in 2024 for president, she would campaign for NY governor?
Chuck needs to watch his back. lol

POLITICO: AOC: 'I don’t know if I’m really going to be staying in the House forever'.

Yes! Our future first female president! I think Gillibrand is a definite target in 2024.

Fell in line when it was time to put their money on the line :francis:

When i read she called her mama bear, i was completely disgusted.
The only other person up for speaker was more right wing than Pelosi. She did the right thing, no one on the left was willing to cross Nancy specifically Barbara Lee who was the only qualified person who might have interest. Calling her mama bear I'm hoping is strategy.
Real Progressives are a minority in Congress right now so you have to be savvy and not wear your intentions on your sleeve. Otherwise, they will see you coming from a mile away and put the kobash on your efforts before you even get started. She is playing the long game and that's what's necessary for our side right now.

This man gets it. Progressive politics had no possible gains from resisting Nancy's speaker vote for the fukk of it while heavily outnumbered. All it would do is just open her up to slander. That game is already beyond rigged in their favor, we're trying to break that game entirely. Rebelling for the sole sake of rebelling is for clowns.

She stayed a consistent advocate on the right side of issues and thats the impact thats lasting for her. Not the dopey goalpost moving TLR style purity test.

By being both an effective politican and progressive, the door has been kicked in for all the progressives who won their primary elections. She's on the verge of getting a boost in allies in Congress like Bowman. Lets keep this train moving :salute:

I seriously doubt it, that's not really a good indication of anything. It's much easier being a congressional candidate than it is a state-wide candidate, let alone a national candidate.

A lot of her positions will not go over well outside the northeast and west coast.
I think you underestimate how popular economic reform is across the board. A lot of folk who rebel against liberal social policies are still huge fans of public health care, taxing millionaires, free public college, Green New Deal, etc. And as Millennials and Generation Z replace Baby Boomers it's gonna keep shifting the demographic further. Pretty much every state that is threatening to vote for Biden will be a threat to vote for AOC within 10 years.

The only question will be how hard they can ride on the economic reform shyt and not get caught up in the trans wars, LBGT, cancel culture etc. that is what's really causing anti-left blowback recently.

Love Jamal Bowman, Cori Bush and Mondaire Jones as well. Slow progress is better than none at all. :obama:

You don't think if she stayed extremely contrary to Congressional leadership they wouldn't stop her from being appointed to the committee she wants, actively seek dort on her, find someone to run against her? Her enemies in her own party are playing for keeps. What would be the point of getting elected just to be stopped by your own party and then ousted by a well funded challenger? None, it would be pointless.

Chuck is gonna be in that seat into his 80s unless he dies somehow before hand.

Like you said, best bet is to go after Kirsten. She doesnt have as much of a machine as Chuck does and lets be real, doubt anyone is passionate about her
