Fantastic article. Dems will bleed voters if they don't embrace Progressive ideals. The party doesn't stand for anything at the moment and the longer these old Dems hang on, the worse it will be in the long run.

They're complicit in fukking up this country and the current state of affairs but want to tell young people how it should be.

If you are gonna run around for 2 plus years saying he is a Russian Agent/illegitimate president who stole an election you have to at least put it out there for a good faith showing to your voters. Otherwise, it all seems like bullshyt, your base will not have faith in you and the vote will be suppressed. Why do you think House Republicans kept putting Obamacare to a vote knowing he would never sign it? Good faith gesture to their voters. Show them you're at least trying. It keeps them engaged.

Nice article. Older Dems are definitely traumatized by Reagan's decade-long massacre of the left. I do believe there's reason for concern it could happen again. I'm starting to read a lot of studies/data how white millennials and especially generation Z are slowly moving to the right on certain issues. Also, I'm not convinced hispanic immigrants are in the bag for Dems in the future. As they settle here many of them will move to the right.

The only issue I'm seeing millennialis move right on is LGBT. They're moving MORE left on race and economics and war. Generation Z is still up for grabs but they look way left of establishment on stuff like UBI and non-interventionism.

And Hispanics don't move right as they settle. Second-generation Cubans are actually moving left of their parents. More generally, right-wing Latinos tend to entrench right and left-wingers entrench left.

I was listening to Kyle Kulinski today and he made a great point. After this closed door meeting the House had today AOC came out insinuating Pelosi is picking on her and her crew because they are women of color. Wrong move, you got this chic right where you want her she should have slammed her ass on policy! Funding ICE, no impeachment, dismissing her proposals etc. Missed opportunity. At the very least she should have said homegirl started it running her mouth to Maureen O'Dowd.
