Lets go with the classic: activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.

Are our socialists (who are only socialist after they change the definition of socialism) changing the definition of "work" now too?

It's horribly worded and they're dumbasses if they pass anything with that language in it, but it "might" refer to something legitimate.

If by "work" they just mean paid employment, then they could be referring to people who are technically able to work but who choose a higher worthwhile priority instead of current paid work - staying home to raise kids, take care of elderly parents, finish higher education, do volunteer service, etc.

I have no idea if that's what it means, that's just the only way I can see that it would make any sort of sense.

Also I dont think AOC or Bernie is changing the definition of socialism, its that the right calls any social program socialism, so what can they do? easier imo to just embrace it. I think thats why they say democratic socialism as opposed to explaining well actually we are social democrats.

My congressman isn't out here saying they have a plan re-event America and release a "resolution" that looks like elementary kids wrote it with crayons and poster board ...the front page had stick figures ,a house , and what looks to be a dog with the words mom, dad, me, and toto. Tf!

Funny how you write that but everyone whose been my "opponent" on AoC and her ideas literally are now saying the same thing I've been saying for weeks.

How does "economic security for those unwilling to work" work?

My initial take on this, having followed AOC and other DSA thinkers enough to at least get some of the broader principles, is that it's likely in reference to underemployment and/or heavy reliance on employer based health insurance. I also got the sense reading through it, that the FDR Second Bill of Rights list was probably used to influence the concepts in the piece. The language is vague, my guess purposefully, to create a concept that is broadly accessible in spite of being extremely ambitious (and you can see the impact in the immediate co-signs and support it's garnered). But this is a case where asking the writers and sponsors for clarity is the only way to get any certainty on the answer...but just pulling context clues from influences and previous positions, that's my best guess.
