There's enough personalities on that panel and too much influence of people with money, she will be ineffective imo but will give her a chew toy to keep her occupied . What's your expectations that she will do . Is she gonna reimpose tighter restrictions on the banks against the wishes of all republicans and Democrats?

She's one of 7 self proclaimed democratic socialists elected to government. 46 democratic socialists won their primaries
Half of millenials identify themselves as democratic socialists or socialists.
Ocasio-Cortez is the voice of that paradigm shift.

I feel like a lot of her agitations haven't amounted to much. Over the course of her career she's gotten in some high-profile battles, made some enemies....but she hasn't "won" those battles, she hasn't been able to drive the political narrative or leverage her notoriety to get things. Often her comments have been used more effectively by the opposition to demonize her allies and even shift the window away from her position. And you get the feeling that she's alienated herself a bit - even though she goes with the party line when it matters (endorsing Hillary both times), you get the impression that leadership doesn't like her at all and doesn't mind trying to put her in her place...and she hasn't won those interactions.
I could make a big list, but i don't really want to hate...I just don't see that she's produced results. AOC has already meaningfully shifted the discussion towards her positions, in that sense she's been more effect than Waters has.
I don't mind AOC carving her own path. There are few legislators who have refused to toe the party line and managed to maintain effectiveness. So maybe she needs to be the prototype.
