The ignorance in this thread. :dead:

1. She was born in the Bronx. Her fam was Puerto Rican.

2. Puerto Rico is part of America. People from Puerto Rico can't be "illegal immigrants."

3. Her platform would help the Black community a ton.

4. You don't know shyt if she down with the Black community or not, and assuming she isn't just because you think she's "Mexican" makes you look like a fool on multiple levels.

They all the same to cac Republicans

Shes a purtorican Mexican. They don't have time to separate them by country

Abolish ICE?

So what does that mean? Open borders? :mjlol:

If that happens in 30 years Pablo and Juana are going to be running from America because its a second Mexico :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

ICE didn't even exist until 2002. :snoop:

You remember back in 2001, when ICE didn't exist so there were open borders and America was a second Mexico? :stopitslime:

Some of ya'all need to get yourselves educated about the issues before you post on threads like this. :manny:

Abolishing ICE means getting rid of the agency and separating its duties into other agencies, like there used to be. Why? Here's a decent explanation:

The argument to shut ICE down revolves around its cultural ecology. The agency has become corrupted with a military mentality that doesn’t respect civilian oversight and has little effective oversight. Once an institution’s culture has metastasized, reforming it can become impossible, with the only solution to abolish it and disperse its various authorities elsewhere.

“What’s happened is as we’ve created ICE and given more and more authority with no accountability to ICE, in my opinion, it’s become a rogue agency,” Jayapal told The Intercept.
“ICE is now the second-largest criminal investigative agency in the United States, second only to the FBI. And the fact that they operate without the accountability of the Department of Justice is extremely concerning to us all,” she told The Intercept in May, explaining her position that it is better for the Department of Justice to oversee enforcement of those sort of matters — as it did under ICE’s predecessor, Immigration and Naturalization Services — rather than the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE. Both DHS and ICE were created in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. (Ocasio-Cortez went in depth into why ICE should be abolished, and what that would mean for immigration enforcement, in an interview with Jeremy Scahill.)

Nationally, this has some impact. If Democrats were hoping for a Blue wave, this likely fractured it. Dems are experiencing a schism of their own. There was a lot of big money behind Crowley that will not get behind Cortez. Her platform isn't realistic and her anti Israel views (that I support) will not garner her much support from the establishment.

The district was never going to go Republican, but she'll likely be nothing more than an obstructionist and an ultra left mouthpiece who has already given precious sound bites.
So the big money won't get behind her...but you admit she'll win anyway.

Which means this will "fracture" the blue wave...why?

At best it will get more progressives motivated, at worst it will have no impact.

Can you imagine some voter in central California, "I was going to vote for a Democrat because I hate Trump, but I heard that some Latina is running in New York, so I think I'll get behind the Trump agenda now."

Some Colorado donor, "I was going to donate to my locale campaign, but now I hear Crowley lost...man, I really loved that guy, gonna have to pull out and spend my money on son's field hockey training instead."

okay.

Still not a chance in hell theyll elect a puetro rican female to be commander n chief.
12 years ago, did you predict they'd elect some Ivy League Chicago politician who was the son of a Kenyan, grew up in Indonesia with a Muslim stepdad, and was named BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA?

And that he'd win in a landslide? :mindblown:

Ya'all have to back down and admit you have no clue what will happen in 2020, much less 2028.

A white woman will be president before anyone outside a white or black male
Nobody other than a white man is winning for a long time.
Unfortunately, this is correct.
Based on what? :skip:

Like ya'all were predicting that a Black man was about to serve 8 years in 2005. Clinton was a goddamn awful candidate that everyone hated and she still was like 0.5% away in three states from being your president.

Ya'all have no clue who is gonna win in 2028. :rudy:

Nah.

Itll be a long time till America accepts a female president, men & women. Dont get me started on how other countries would correspond with us.

I hope Im alive if it happens though.
You do realize that there are tons of other countries with female leaders, right? Like right now? :dahell:

Margaret Thatcher was the prime minister of the UK like 40 years ago. Was there a problem with how "other countries would correspond" that created some big issue for the UK?

Man, PAKISTAN had a female prime minister. INDIA had a female prime minister. :heh:

If the dems keep running women, they’ll keep losing.
They ran an awful woman last time and she only lost by like 0.5% in three states. :childplease:

The backlash from a black president is Donald Trump. That's how far whites will go to keep themselves in these positions. Add the majority conservative Supreme Court allowing gerrymandering, and it's a wrap. White women do what their men tell them to do. They are not voting for a woman regardless of party. Black men earned the right to vote before white women. That shows you how serious white men are about patriarchy.
