Chadwick is twice her age in real life. Secondly, they need to find an actual Kenyan (or African if need be) to play Storm and find one that doesn't look like a vanilla chocolate swirl sundae.

Shipp could be a dope Storm in the MCU, but sadly, the stench of the current X-Men franchise is all over her. Halle Berry had to fight for a bigger role, and even then they didn't do justice to the character.

If Beale Street Could Talk lead actress KiKi Layne is already gaining momentum in Hollywood after her rousing performance in the widely celebrated film. In fact, the new star is going full steam ahead in trying to secure a major role she's always dreamed of filling: X-Men's Storm.

One person who seemingly is not here for Layne's pitch is the superhero's current on-screen portrayer, Alexandra Shipp.
According to Page Six, Layne recently did an interview at this past weekend's Critics Choice Awards where she expressed her interest in portraying the iconic superhero on film.

"She was an image of myself, of a powerful chocolate Black woman, and I just think that's an amazing image to have and I really want to play Storm," she said. "We are actively plotting, actively plotting."

storm could have her own movie if fox ever got her right in the x-men movies. they've made her such a second rate character going back to the halle berry days, i never remember her being or people treating her like a sidekick when i was coming up and the x men cartoon and comics were big. that said, alexandra shipp can't act for shyt and is the acting equivalent of what tinashe is to music - no one likes you , so fukk no to a shipp led storm movie...just no

For the record, marvel needs to recast everyone. Fassbender would've been dope but again, fox has worn out their characters and the actors who portray them. Which is sad. First Class was special. Days of Future Past was a body blow. Apocalypse was the nail in the coffin, and this Dark Phoenix will be the dirt being thrown on top of it.

They downgraded all of their powers, but Storm in particular. All they let her do is created "storms".

It's strange how some of the Fox actors are acting like they are going to be in these MCU movies (As the same characters....some may get cast as different people down the line due I suppose). I saw an Arya/Sansa interview where they were talking about their characters meeting (Arya is in that New Mutants movie, which may never get released).

It had its bright spots but.

1. They gave Kitty powers she didnt have in the comics.

2. They threw quicksilver in the bushes after one dope action scene. Too much Jennifer Lawrence, not enough Professor X.

They basically got lazy with this and relied too much on wolverine yet again to carry shyt. I like wolverine, but the franchise as a whole ran that character until the wheels literally fell off. First Class should've been a clean break. A do over, but no. They had to go back to shoe horning Jackman into the script.
