BP already got a love interest with Lupita's character, and Chadwick stay telling ppl he prefers it that way
Shipp was on the bandwagon before twitter shat on her, so she's just salty and realizes she wasn't getting the MCU role regardless so no need to be PC.
Shipp is correct, however, about Storm being treated like "fukking Sasquatch" in the background. Sounds like this Phoenix movie will be no different.
BP and his mytho are more important than Storm because Storm largely has been limited by writers/creators for the last 20+ years. Which is why 95% of the time Storm is mentioned in potential MCU stories, all ppl can say is BP 2 or make her BP's love interest, bc most don't know anything else about her other than vague recollections from the '92 cartoon. So i get what Shipp is saying as well.
However, I figure MCU will correct a lot of Storm's past mishandling

NO .... introduce her ... maybe... 10 years maybe 15 by the time we get MCU xmen ... you cant just drop mutants in the world.. unless the unsnap creates a new reality.. so introducing her as a love interest or something its gonna devalue the character . ... hell just like they retconned peter parker to being that kid from IM2 .. they might retcon storm to being one of the "prisoners" on the mission BP was on
I actually like when people are intruduced first before given their own movie. Just like Black Panther was.

That’s a different discussion tho. As far as how to introduce her and all that. But that gets into how do you introduce mutants at this point and why haven’t they been mentioned yet etc etc.
Speaking strictly for storm as a character, she doesn’t need a relationship to define or introduce her. She’s a leader of a powerful team and one of the strongest people on that team. She’s resourceful, intelligent, brave, honest, and has a good soul. But also has some anger issues lol. And interesting hairstyle choices.
When introducing a character, especially a female one, the relationship you give them defines them for better or worse. It’s one reason I’ve always had an issue with 02 Spider-Man being “all about a girl” because then damn near everything peter does, by his own account, is for MJ. That reduces him so much and also reduces her because we can only see her in his eyes at that point rather than making her fully fleshed out. Female characters in particular are often defined by their relationships and that’s bad writing.
