While I disagree about his Cam analysis, he's dead on about passing yards per game being an overrated stat, especially in this Steroid offense era. Yards per attempt is a much better stat.

Your comment works against Alex Smith more so than for him. You have have average QB's like Matt Schaub throwing for between 4k and 5k yards and then you have Alex Smith who just reached a career high of 3100 yards what does that say about him?

Alex is right here. But the problem is he's a poor QB. And then he namedrops a guy in his rookie season who accomplished more in his 1st season than Alex has in his entire career.

Cam threw a lot because the Panthers were usually trying to come from behind due to their poor defense. The problem here again, is Alex has been behind his whole career and still could not put up big passing numbers.

My biggest issue is he acts as though he played a big part in the 9ers success last season. He acts as if having the 30th ranked offense in the league is a "good" thing. Alex, some QB's do not have the benefit of a top defense, special teams, coach of the year.

He should keep his mouth shut and learn how to throw a receiver open. Can't stand this dude.

I bet his stupid ass meant to say that putting up big yardage numbers doesnt mean that youll win...but :snoop: either way. the reason I believe he didnt mean disrespect to Cam is cuz dude never talked shiit about anyone and was as pc as anyone Ive seen.

fact is, before last season he was doing neither really so he shouldnt be talking

My problen with dude even having anything to say is that the 49ers flirted with replacing him.

This dude would playing for the Seahawks or the Dolphins right now if Peyton hadn't decided to go to Denver. Keep ya head low and your mouth shut because you kinda lucky to even still be on the team.

I was rooting for the kid but he should keep Cam's name out of his mouth.

Just to nitpick, Cam didn't throw a lot because Carolina was behind, they we're usually up most games game but blew leads in the second half. Cam threw a lot because the coaching staff wanted to develop him as a passer.

True, but they were still behind quite a bit... They needed to throw because the D couldn't stop a nose bleed.

Nope...not a single team showed interest in him except Miami...and I'm not sure if they even offered him a contract.

Son is a god on 9er messageboards though.
