Hollywood is wild like that, especially for the brehs.

They’ll have you threading water for 20 years as the tertiary token but you gotta keep on grinding.

I remember when he was on that Leverage show back in 2009. It feels like only now at 38 years old that he’s got his big opportunity. Props to him for staying in the grind.

I just hope the show is exceptionally well-written and can be the US-version of Luther (Idris Elba)

Because I don’t think the IP itself is gonna generate that much hype, so it’ll come down to Hodge’s charisma and the villains/overarching plot to really sell it as more than just another procedural detective/cop show

British show always do a phenomenal job with the villains over US shows

Been fukking with the lead Aldis Hodge since Leverage, so gonna check it out off the strength of him. shyt annoyed they cancelled City on a Hill :francis:

I swear they stole the idea of Leverage from BBC's Hustle - where the Black Man is the brains of the operation.
And then did what Hollywood usually does with "ensemble" casts - they make the black man the tech guy. (alternatively, the make him LGBTQIA+....)

Good to see breh get a starring role like this. Last time I seen him was in Invisible Man and his acting was kinda stiff.

This is way better than any of the movies. Morgan Freeman was too old to play Alex Cross and Tyler Perry is Tyler Perry. Been a while since I read the books but they have both of his kids and Nana Mama & Alex boxes in this one, The guy playing Sampson is cool but I thought he would be just a bit bigger. I’m on episode 3 now.
