damn, he pulled a Prince Paul and did half an album of skits

musically its really choppy, theres no full songs and alot of rock based samples. this is EASILY the worst project hes ever done

dont know what else to say, ive been listening to dude for 13+ years and i dont like it at all. Life on Another Planet is a gem, couple other interesting tracks but theres a ton of garbage

I was expecting it to sound like this tho. It's a fukkin album full of Russian rock samples. Hopefully it's out of his system and we can look forward to StepBrothers, Rare Chandeliers, Mic Tyson, etc.

and i hear he has a full project wit boldy james :dwillhuh:

Yes, it's dropping on Decon Records this year.

With all the mix-up...the Gibbs, Currensy, Scaggs, and Kool G projects are NOT coming out. What IS coming out this year: StepBrothers (Evidence and Alchemist), Rare Chandeliers (Bronson), Boldy James project, Durag Dynasty (Planet Asia, Tri-State, Killer Ben) and Mic Tyson LP with Sean Price, where Al did the bulk of the beats. He didn't do all of it though.

Production wise, the 8 part Kosmos series at the end are the best beats on there to me.

All the raps on here are pretty dope to me, and I wasn't expecting that from the guest list. Even the TWIN joint is dope man. Not that familiar with Midaz, Mr. Esquire, Durag Dynasty (minus Planet Asia), or Willie the Kid, but I like their shyt on here.

I don't think this is a record I'll love, but as a huge ALC fan, I think it speaks to his versatility that he can do Return of the Mac, Covert Coup, Cats & Dogs, 1st Infantry, Gangrene, Russian Roulette, and everything in between. I knew this would be some weird shyt, but for weird it is done well, even if it isn't my cup of tea. Who would've thought the guy that started as a 2nd generation DJ Premier could be this versatile?

Still, I like his beats more than his rock loops, Covert Coup is still the best ALC batch of the past few years to me, and I am more looking forward to the Bronson, Sean Price, or Step Brothers album, whichever comes first...I will still cop and support this though..

I think people need to listen to this a few times before they pass judgement, not everything needs to be instantly gratifying.

Some things need to time to mature, just like wine, cheese, whiskey and people, music is no different.

The people who find fault with the musical direction would bug out if they heard, the type of shyt that would be spun at a block party back in the day, you'd hear the shadows alongside the incredible bongo band, Grover G Washington, and the Steve Miller Band.
