Thats not what the OP is talking about... If i think a album is dope and you dont thats ok.. If i dont like it I dotn like it.. I dont need better speakers or headphones.. or need to play it in my car, etc... it is what it is.. I just didnt like it.. dont gotta marinate for 3 days then play it again ...

Now there have been albums I've played years later where I was like this is OK but never did I go from a trash album to a classic

Camel stans are the worst man...knowing damn well that dude has like 3 hot albums out of 12 :francis:

The thing with jay is that his shyt is just all over the place. Even his worst albums have amazing music on them, and some of his best albums have complete trash on them. I still think he's deserves the credit he gets, because he's probably made more great music than basically any other rapper. But when you see he only has like 2-3 true 5 mic albums out of so much output (at least a dozen albums) it makes it look weaker than it really is. If you add up total songs, good ones, he's up there with the best. I'm Definitely not a Jay stan by the way. But I think you can make some valid arguments that he's the best, and I have him in my top 5 DOA

I liked most of Yeezus on first listen :yeshrug:

I did see him perform 5/10 of those tracks at a festival a few weeks earlier so I already knew it was left field.

lots of ppl givin too many safe answers.

no more political bs.

let's start gettin serious.

i am a huge Pac stan. he was the first rapper I really gravitated towards at a young age. heard about 80% of all the shyt he's ever recorded including those old makaveli bootlegs from back in the day.

but man...the way ppl stan 7 day theory puzzles the shyt outta me.

obviously it is a classic if only on the strength of the circumstances surrounding its release, but musically from top to bottom come on it is not even close to being his best work. hail mary, to live and die in LA, blasphemy... some dope shyt no doubt... but man...

his BEST album???????

really?????

shyt had some of the most undercooked production I have ever heard.

I dunno... I don't know hoe anyone could say that shyt is a better listen than MATW or especially AEOM.

maybe someone here who really does have that album at the top of their rankings could help me to understand.

MATW was his only flawless album, the rest had some flaws the made them very skippable at points. like AEOM whose entire second disk was essentially filler compared to the first disk.
MATW i can play all the way through without skipping a track. Cut AEOM down to one disk though and its his best album.
