Liberation was a dud so im good
It kinda was, but I'll give this a spin because the beats and raps on the latest Black Star worked, so this might be better than the OG Liberation.

I actually liked a lot of Liberation and still do but mainly bc Madlib beats will always get play from me.It kinda was, but I'll give this a spin because the beats and raps on the latest Black Star worked, so this might be better than the OG Liberation.

What Can I Do
I’m liking the sound of this so far but I understand people who don’t want to hear Kweli without Mos

Most definitely agreeYoooooo this shyt is FIRE.
Talib’s best solo work in YEARS
it's because a lot of people don't even know it dropped. The only way ti legally listen to it is to sign up for a monthly subscription service called Luminary. It's not on any other streaming platforms and there are no physical copies. If you go on Talib's social media he's bickering with fans that are annoyed about it. It's 5 dollars a month and there's only 2 albums on there. This album and the most recent Black Star album. No download option so if you ever cancel the service you can't hear the album anymore.Damn I had to search a few pages for a Talib and Madlib - Liberation 2 thread?
Yikes y’all something else
Yeah you right fam I had to get Luminary for Blackstar album and Talib was arguing with fans back then too about it.it's because a lot of people don't even know it dropped. This is heat tho really diggin this project
Couldn’t agree more. It was a no brainer to subscribe once I heard the only way to hear No Fear of Time was on the app. Then started listening to Midnight Miracle now we get another Liberation! Worth the subscription for these three things alone IMOI’ve been subscribed to Luminary since they dropped No Fear Of Time. Personally I think its worth it because they’ve got the Midnight Marauders podcast with Dave Chappelle, Black Star, and now Liberation 2. I mean its only $5 a month and you can literally cancel at any time. I don’t see the big deal personally. If the artists are getting the bag and delivering the product then whats the controversy? People happily contributed the death of physical media when Napster and Limewire exploded on the scene and now this is result. Apple, Spotify, and Tidal introduced streaming apps and people RUSHED to sign up. Netflix, HBO Max, and Hulu introduced exclusive content and people subscribe in legions to watch their favorite shows. Why not subscribe to listen to your favorite artists? This is the landscape WE helped create! Why bytch about it?
I don't disagree with some of this, just in principle I get frustrated more and more every year that so many things are becoming harder to own, and every damn thing is on a subscription based service. Even many printers now you haveto subscribe to use the ink in the cartridges. All the different platforms to subscribe to are getting out of control.I’ve been subscribed to Luminary since they dropped No Fear Of Time. And I like buying vinyl and I'd love a physical copy of this.
