Ima be honest, some of yall in this thread are disgusting with trying to make this kid out to be some wronged martyr. Somebody is fukking DEAD due to activities that he played a part in. I dont give a fukk how many points he lit up S. Carolina for.

Now by all accounts of Alabama Law, Miller did nothing legally wrong. The most you could accuse him off is acting as an accomplice but even that is circumstantial as his intent when he transported the weapon cannot be assessed.

In fact, im going to play devils advocate and assume that his intent was to deliver the gun to Miles so that he could protect himself from a threat.

With that established, what bothers me is that based on the reporting, not one time among the group of Brandon Miller, Darius Miles, Micheal Davis, Jaden Bradley did one of these young men attempt to deescalate the situation in any meaningful way. And I surely believe that Brandon Miller shares a massive amount of culpability in escalating the situation by bringing the fukking gun in the first place.

What bothers me is a troubling trend of seeing young Black men make stupid, impulsive decisions to inflict or enable the infliction of violence upon somebody else without any regard to 2nd or 3rd order effects.

Like even if Miller did think Miles needed protection, what did he think bringing the gun would solve? Wouldnt picking them up to flee the situation be the better option? Wouldnt involving Law Enforcement have been the better option as well? Did he really think a potential gun fight would be the safest, most effective way to solve whatever encounter Miles was in? Did he ever think about how he and Miles being involved in whatever was going on would affect their basketball careers?

I could go on and on about how few considerations were made in this decision.

Some of yall will say he's 18 and 18 year old kids are dumb. But to absolve hm of any sort of critical thought criticism because of his age is a pathetically low bar to hold hm accountable to (and once again, thats assuming hes as innocent as he claiming).

Not to mention, if he is dumb enough to not consider any of what i previously laid out, yall really think he still should be playing in the NBA?

My cousin played for Saban and played with Muhsin. Don’t evoke that speech on this.

Someone died here. Not a DUI, not weed, not a bar fight, not cheating on a test…someone DIED. She wont have the ability to run a company or to have 7 kids, so you’ll excuse me if I really dgaf that a players’ future has to be inconvenienced. God forbid Miller has to endure 12 hours of internet hate for situation he literally and willfully was in

If what Miller lawyer said is how it happened, great. He’s paid a perfectly reasonable price. Suspicion and derision. No jail no bail no suspension. There’s countless dudes with less resources that are in jail for similar situations. So trust, he/they ain’t no victim bruh

The worst part is that it's gonna put a rocket in the back of the next one to face this same decision. If someone is upset and asks you to bring them a gun, your FIRST thought should be, "I can't do that, I don't want someone to die and have that on my conscience."

Your second thought should be, "I don't want to catch a charge for his bullshyt, I have a life ahead of me."

Precedents like this make fools think they don't even have to worry about the consequences.

It’s giving me Boondocks trial of r Kelly vibes…

And dudes are so conditioned by sports debate culture. Bruh this isnt a bron vs kobe debate. We ain’t on ‘sides’:gucci:

Nggas act like the 40 spot is a cleansing from the murder :what:

Even just the optics of a game winner like ‘hoops cures all:banderas:‘ is insane

If Brandon Miller never existed in Alabama this mother would still be alive …sad
I respectfully disagree with this. I just think miles would have just gotten another gun or talkin to another teammate.

But he didn’t he got the gun from Miller with as he said “one in the head” …if Miller didn’t exist this young mother would still be on this earth and a son wouldn’t be attending a funeral
