Akira was lit though. It'll be crazy to see those cyberpunk metropolis bike chase scenes in live action :blessed:

They better not mess this up, because I don't want to hear all these normies badmouthing one of the GOAT cyberpunk anime films because of a weak adaptation :birdman:

Now you know you probably ain't getting an all asian cast :skip:

Best case scenario they fit in a "hero" white guy visiting Neo Tokyo that ends up joining Kaneda's gang through some contrived fukkery.

The scenario we're most likely getting is it's not going to be in Japan at all but with a diverse cast set in USA with a white lead that's based on Kaneda and maybe they keep Tetsuo Asian :troll:

Yeah...

Neo-Tokyo becomes Neo-New York.

I could see them keeping Tetsuo asian.. but Kaneda would probably be white. The one military dude they would probably make black :skip:

IN!
The scenery is going to be lit. For sure.
But this is the furthest thing from light comedy.
This better be dark and serios.
In Taika we trust.

I'm a huge fan of taika but I do not envy his position in trying to convert a legendary anime into live action, this is doing to be difficult to get right.

Akira is one story I don't think it needs a Live Action adaptation at all :francis: shyt it was hard enough for the movie to show the story in a condensed way and make it make some sort of sense.

Not sure how Taika can do it Hollywood style, and I hope he tones down the comedy he loves so much. Let us see him show more range :manny:

Visually it should be pretty spectacular though.
