They where WWF/E made
AJ was an outsider and this isn’t the 80s 90s where guys jump from promotion to promotion and you was generally shock when a big name guy would show up.
Vince and WWE operate within a bubble and think if your not in WWE fans won’t really no you.
AJ getting that type of reaction definitely made them think that type of pop and the crowd reaction to him and Cana was probably mind blowing to them.

exactly. i always felt like the hardys (esp jeff) would come back but there was a period where AJ Styles would NEVER be even a WWE curtain jerker...and now he's the face that runs the place
