The WWE Universe will witness Diva warfare this Sunday when the cast of “Total Divas” takes on Divas Champion AJ Lee and, in the words of The Black Widow, the “true Divas” of WWE in a Traditional Elimination Tag Team Match at Survivor Series.
The 7-on-7 encounter, symbolic of an apparent schism among the division’s roster, was welcome news to the reigning and defending Divas Champion, who has repeatedly condemned the cast of E! Network’s smash hit. WWE fans no doubt remember the #PipeBombshell’s skewering of the “Total Divas” in August, when she lumped them all together as “cheap, interchangeable, expendable, useless women.” Since then, AJ has yet to let up, insisting she and other Divas are unfairly forced to play second fiddle to the reality TV sensations.
Now, AJ’s crusade has seemingly found support in the form of her Survivor Series teammates, Kaitlyn, Rosa, Aksana, Alicia Fox, Summer Rae and the ever-intimidating Tamina Snuka.
Despite the champion’s claims that the women of “Total Divas” are better suited for reality television than vying for her title, Natalya, The Bellas and their cast mates will assuredly provide stiff opposition to AJ’s team. Regardless of which crew has the perceived advantage, a Survivor Series’ 7-on-7 match is nothing short of a Divas all-star bout, with six of the ladies having held the butterfly-emblazoned title.
How will these two squads fare as cohesive units? The “Total Divas” cast has not always been harmonious, and there are certainly rivals to be observed on Team AJ (most notably the Divas Champion and her ex-best friend, Kaitlyn). Could there be dissension in the ranks? Add in the presence of WWE rookies Summer Rae, JoJo and Eva Marie, and this Sunday’s Divas Match is packed with fascinating variables.
Watch how it all plays out when 14 of WWE’s top Divas enter an all-out elimination war at Survivor Series, which airs live on pay-per-view this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
