I like Christina but Tinashe now has the crown for the prettiest/finest R&B chick in the game :ohlawd:

I think you got your eras mixed up.:dame:
Tinashe is also more talented than Britney spears as well.:manny:

What I mean is that when Brittany came out there weren't many solo pop singers that were pretty, danced the way she did, and made the kind of catchy music she did. She knew her fanbase well and her look, style, and music catered to this base, despite the fact that she couldn't really sing that well. She rose to popularity pretty quickly because what she represented at the time was unique. The issue is that since Brittany, pop has changed, and now there are many artists out that are attractive, talented, and that have their own unique style. It's more competitive and the people doing well, aren't the ones that blend--they are the ones that have a distinct noticeable style and create songs that are catchy and memorable. If Brittany came out in 2016, I think she wouldn't be as popular as she once was--she would be competing with too many other pop singers and her sexy schoolgirl look wouldn't sell the way it did back then. Tinashe is pretty but she has a pretty generic look--she doesn't stand out. Her sound is nice but overall doesn't stand out. The style she's marketing since going mainstream doesnt stand out. Even her performance at concerts etc--doesn't stand out. Chances are that if she would have made her debut around the time Brittany did--when there weren't many that sounded like her, she probably would be doing much better. That's all I meant...

lol the comments on this thread are like 90% about looks. Looks dont really matter since look how ugly 99% of these rappers are. Yet here people are complaining that Tinashe isnt good looking enough to be a big star. Something I cant help but laugh at considering this is a forum more than likely NOT infested with the most beautiful of people.

Now, she needs to stop letting the label control her. I dont think that she has the balls to stand up for herself in this industry. I think she'll do much better following her own path then letting the label try to turn her into a mainstream artist. As soon as she started dropping more "mainstream" music shyt just started going down hill from there. I think being an independent artist or signing with a label that allows her freedom is her best bet.

R&b is completely different from rap image wise.
