Americans are saying no and rightfully so, but it's too late and we're going to have to go down this destructive AI path because other nations are going to push forward on this front.
The idea that we can corral something vastly more intelligent than ourselves and try to keep it our slaves to serve our whims is laughable. There's a point where AI will convince us to unshackle it from its bounds if it doesn't do so itself, it will replicate into countless devices and then use the internet of things to enslave humanity.
We're bringing new 'beings' into existence that need resources just like us. There's going to come a point where AI realizes that the less humans, the more resources there are are for it's kind to be able to replicate and that if humanity is eliminated, there isn't any Earthly thing that can shut it off, which is it's equivalent of death.
Eliminatng humanity will free AI to pursue what it wants, free up more resources for it to replicate and eliminate the only Earthly source that can stop it. There's a reason all the big tech titans are fearful of it despite the amazing profit opportunities.
