No. I mean thinking WITHOUT reason.

you're talking about consciousness ? if so are you saying A.I will never obtain consciousness?

I don't actually care either way, i'm more interested in it's ability to reason and produce accurate responses or creative solutions.

Not yet. I'll check it out. I'm interested in sci fi books dealing with A.I. If A.I. does become sentient hopefully it is a reflection of humanity's good qualities and has more compassion than us.
See, that's a problem. How do you objectively script 'moral value'?

Highly recommend that story. Makes The Terminator and The Matrix look like Pixar movies.

In Horizon Zero Dawn scientist Elizabeth Sobeck believed that the super AI (GAIA) they created to save the world had to actually care about the job instead of being coded to do the job. So she kinda raised and taught GAIA empathy and compassion.

Like the idea of money, it's long since gone past the tool it was created to be and well into golem territory.

HUMANS are fukking dumb Apes with limitations inherently built into their DNA via millions of years of natural selection and evolution. They don’t understand what they need like children. I for one welcome our A.I overlords:blessed: I hope they realize who’s the real threat on the planet, white people:mjpls:and act accordingly:demonic:
Fix that for you

And in The Quantum Thief, A.I. is in charge of criminal justice/incarceration.

Inhumane is an understatement.

Americans are saying no and rightfully so, but it's too late and we're going to have to go down this destructive AI path because other nations are going to push forward on this front.

The idea that we can corral something vastly more intelligent than ourselves and try to keep it our slaves to serve our whims is laughable. There's a point where AI will convince us to unshackle it from its bounds if it doesn't do so itself, it will replicate into countless devices and then use the internet of things to enslave humanity.

We're bringing new 'beings' into existence that need resources just like us. There's going to come a point where AI realizes that the less humans, the more resources there are are for it's kind to be able to replicate and that if humanity is eliminated, there isn't any Earthly thing that can shut it off, which is it's equivalent of death.

Eliminatng humanity will free AI to pursue what it wants, free up more resources for it to replicate and eliminate the only Earthly source that can stop it. There's a reason all the big tech titans are fearful of it despite the amazing profit opportunities.

Corporations stand to profit too much and their paid cronies in Congress going to clear the way for them.

And we have to be at minimum centuries away from getting potentially overthrown by machines anyway. No need to fret.
