I took this in NC.
It's a Green Lynx spider and apparently it not only jumps but spits venom up to 8 inches

I feel you, op. And this is why I refuse to visit certain countries. I've got a cousin that wants me to go with her to visit Australia where those big azz mutant bugs live and I keep letting her know that is NOT the move lol!
We don't have any insects like that. All we have are some spiders which have a deadly bite, but you'd have to be incredibly stupid to let that happen because they're all very timid and cowardly. You would have to seriously provoke it to get it angry enough that it will bite you. Most of the time they react to confrontations by running away
If it's massive, aggressive, mutant insects you are scared of, then it's tropical countries you want to avoid. Especially foresty ones. Laos, Cambodia, Guatemala, places like that
