After X-Men: Apocalypse they need to reboot the franchise.

I think it is just a clusterfukk to a certain point. They just cast new Storm, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Jean Grey for the 80s in this upcoming Apocalypse joint. They are all underwhelming choices. You can't just start over with some of those same characters again.
Really X-Men needs that TV drama 13 episode seasons treatment with a super high budget. They gotta personal drama poppin' heavy as well as great action potential. Maybe in a few years down the line or something.

no they shouldn't...all they need to do is start focusing on the X-men as a whole, and not just the same 3 or 4 characters they have been so far....the first 3 movies were wolvie feat some of the xmen...then they broke up the group and let wolvie have some solo shine.....now it's been the prof x, mag, mystique, and don't forget about wolvie show....and the fact they trying to use dancer boy to make gambit the star of the next run of films, smh....seriously, what the fukk!??!?....

I still think that they should reboot the whole thing as a live action TV or Netflix series with the original Cockrum/Claremont/Byrne lineup.

^ Focus on this squad (and Jean) for the first season or two-- they could cover the formation of the All-new, all different team, have a couple of battles with Magneto, and cover the Phoenix, Proteus, Dark Phoenix, and Days of Future Past storylines, sprinkled with the occasional flashback episode focused the original 5.

In the next season, Cyclops leaves and they transition into the "mohawk Storm" era, where she loses her powers, Magneto becomes a good guy, and the team has to deal with the Morlock Massacre, Genosha, the Brood, and Mister Sinister.

After that, they could move on to the Jim Lee/90's era with Magneto's return to villainy, the return of Cyclops and the introduction of Gambit, the blue/gold teams, and the final showdown with Apocalypse.

I would start with the OG team and go literally in order of all the major X-Men plots and turning points. But it's obvious they could do like countless seasons of this and never catch up to the books.

The X-Men are large enough that they don't have to reboot. They can focus on different storylines featuring different characters. There's no true origin for the X-Men (they are born that way), so keep it moving.

X-Force, The New Mutants, Hellfire Club, Brotherhood/Sisterhood, Weapon Plus, Alpha Flight, Morlocks, X-Factor Investigations, Young X-Men....X-Treme X-Men...there's so many different places they can go.
