But not all NFTs are expensive. That's like saying Cars are a scam because lambos are expensive
Cars provide utility, NFTs can provide some utility outside art, but the whole thing is built on a scam. If they are cheap of not. The scam is getting folks to pay the network fees. Attracting folk to the platform with stories of shyt selling for crazy amounts, Some are doing it for fun and to get their art out there, but it’s still a scam to transfer wealth from the poor and desperate via fees.

It’s American and everyone is trying to take your bread, so if you can make some bread off it then go ahead, but it’s still a scam and lots of people will be handed Ls when it’s all said and done.:usure:

Y’all nikka saying it’s not a scam, would you let your mom buy or mint an NFT?:sas1:

What are the steps you would take to guarantee she won’t lose money when it’s all said and done. :ld:

But this ability/technology has almost nothing to do with NFT's/blockchain
Interoperability as in blockchain interoperability. Building stuff on siloed blockchains won't really enable much value in the grand scheme

Thats why people call it crypto/NFTs a scam. Cuz they're selling you stuff today and claiming it will be very important in the future. But that future will probably never exist.
Theres a lot of scams and cash grabs in crypto right now. The question is does that mean the entire industry and technology is a scam that will never have any value?

The way you and others completely write off all crypto & NFTs is the same way many wrote off the Internet in the 90s just because the early iterations were garbage.

Why the Web Won't Be Nirvana

I've seen enough of the current financial system that's crumbling to know where I'm placing my bets :hubie:

Why are NFT's useful?
Cuz one day if video game companies work together you can own digital property and move your stuff from one game to a different game.

Why would video game companies ever want to work together like that?
So they can sell NFT's.
NFTs can open up more revenue streams for the gaming companies while being able to do whatever you want with your digital property as a player from buying to selling is a benefit to some. If you ever played games like World of Warcraft and saw how in-game items got sold on eBay its easy to see where this could go for gaming.

Video games is just one use case. There's endless ways for it to be useful for other industries

People are fixated on NFTs as scams because of PFP projects with zero utility which are BAYC knock offs . I wouldn’t touch those personally because it’s fake hype with no real future utility .

However NFT technology can be utilized for anything that needs to be authenticated. If the technology was mature enough fake vaccine cards wouldn’t be a thing. Student records could be stored on blockchain instead of the ancient way it’s handled now .

Currently there are healthcare projects regarding NFTs

People are caught up In profile picture world but the technology is way more than that and that’s where the real money will be made if and only if the technology gets to a high level stability .

Whatever company figures that out will be one of the FAANG companies unless Google does it themselves.

Of course they don't, the point is anytime new tech pops up people say it's a scam.

That's not true. And everything you mentioned is some sort of advancement. NFTs could vanish tomorrow and the world would be the same.

Let's use Bored Apes as an example since that's the one most people know. Latest floor price is about 117 ETH which is about $320,000.

Only place I see these things at, are when people use them as profile pics/avatars on Twitter and other social media sites.

You buy an ape and spend $320,000 and use it as your avatar.

I hover over your ape and save it as a jpg for $0 and use it any my pic/avatar.

Tell me what $320,000 gets you.

Somebody paid $2.7 million for this:

Same questions can be applied to traditional art. Why does traditional art hold value? Why is a painting with blob of red paint selling for millions? What determines its worth?

I can create a literal 1s and 0s copy of a digital product. 1:1. Checksum and all. NFTs included.

You can't even say that about fake Jordan's and the Chinese have been working on that for 2 decades. :mjlol:

That web article :wow:

“Then there's cyberbusiness. We're promised instant catalog shopping—just point and click for great deals. We'll order airline tickets over the network, make restaurant reservations and negotiate sales contracts. Stores will become obselete. So how come my local mall does more business in an afternoon than the entire Internet handles in a month? Even if there were a trustworthy way to send money over the Internet—which there isn't—the network is missing a most essential ingredient of capitalism: salespeople.”

It is an advancement tho.... Royalties for artists.

And you save the jpeg, you won't be able to get airdrops, or make a profit on it. And talk about extremes majority of nfts are not pfps I keep saying this and majority are not that expensive
