String was a hoe ass nikka and violated many times. Went back on his word, broke the Sunday truce, snitched to Bunny, had Avon sit down with Prop Joe and become part of that bullshyt Co-op which Marlo eventually took over.

The co op and peace it wrought made him blind and blunt
He was in it for money, it's why he connected with string and Avon (and cheese, eventually) thought he was a bum
Marlo was in it for fame and power and joe thought the money and easier life would appeal to him like everyone else

String was the reason the Barksdale kliq fell apart, and in the end he was nothing more than an overachiever. Avon won because he's still filthy rich, and he's got it made in prison. His prison spot is basically a vacation home.

Did you not watch season 2? He was untouchable in prison. As for going broke that's not true, he hooked Marlo up with Greeks because he didn't want them working with any East Baltimore dealers. He asked for 100k as a finder's fee.

Yup. Breanna told Namond and Delonda that the money had dried up. And this was the baby mama and eldest son of Avons right hand man. Avon didn't have enough bread to take care of dudes family. The man that refused to snitch and ttook all of those murders for him. This might be why Wee Bay linked up with Chris while in prison...no evidence for that but I could speculate that it was to make money.
Avon might have put his best foot forward while he met with Marlo to appear like he was living the life, but he and Breanna needed that money they got from Marlo.
And I get the point being made about Avon living better than the average prisoner but calling it a vacation home is a little much. Eating stale ass Popeyes and watching dusty flicks on DVD cuz you're surrounded by nikkas isn't exactly a good time.

Dude was able to get whatever he wanted in there, he had his own tv and an Xbox with every guard on his side except the one he set up. Brianna didn't need the money since she was the money manager she was financially set, that's why De'Londa was pissed because Brianna was turning the money faucets off. Notice that no other families had a problem with Avon because they were smart enough to save what they got from Brianna(assumption) and/or find a new crew. Like some of the other co-op member pointed out the Barksdale's could've laid back
They had more money than they could spend

Do you really think Brianna was dumb enough to not put money aside for herself? Freamon stated they were making around a million a month for who knows how long. The only way i could see him being broke is if Brianna was keeping money from him since he didn't have his name on anything including a savings account, she was still pissed at him for D'Angelo's murder.
