After rewatching The Wire, I think it's safe to say Stringer>Avon.

Avon only got one up on Marlo after getting locked up and officially taking that L in the drug war. He underestimated Marlo too, he had dumb nikkas getting clapped even though they had the drop on Marlo's goons

and he def tried it with that weak ass shyt with Devonne:mjlol:Bruh caught a hot one in the shoulder over that:mjcry:

Ain't no revisionist history here, pretending like Avon saw that youngins rise from a mile away. Both Stringer and Avon failed to recognize who and what Marlo was until way after the fact.

Avon knew what Marlo was from day one, even though marlo/chris got a shot avon, Avon had the whole east side tooling up on Marlo while he was looking for council at the rim shop with them older cats, Marlo was in over his head and he ain't know it... the jail scene was about Marlo being humbled to the power Avon had, not only did he have the whole prison on lock and could have got him touched then and there, Avon still had the connect as well, so therefore the king stayed the king

Exactly the point. :childplease:

You can't say he saw Marlo from a mile away when he treated him like some lil nikka that was gonna back down from him off name alone. He didn't peep game when Marlo stepped off the corner initially. He was like "I thought the brother had my heart than that:lolbron:" and stepped right into the booby trap.
did you even watch the video?

he knew what he wanted from Sergei from the jump
like i said Marlo had pure luck on his side

towers came down
soldiers locked up
copping unwanted territory

You're talking about season 5, again, after the fact. I'm talking about season 3, during their war He got outsmarted by Marlo at damn near every turn because he underestimated him and treated him like a lil nikka. Marlo stepped off the corner and started wholesailing his shyt, Avon was all :krs:and put his people right back on the corners where they proceeded to get gunned up and clapped quick. It wasn't like Avon peeped Marlo's game in season 3 and planned accordingly, nah, he had tunnel vision and was going to war with whoever was on "his corners".

The entirety of season 3 debunks this idea. That season revolved around someone undestimsating the young cat, and playing old school games that worked 'back in the day' and being surprised that Marlo was ahead of that shyt.

I would say Avon didn't truly get hip to who he was dealing with in Marlo until Marlo showed up to his fukking trial to watch him get sentenced like:birdman:

And sure, Avon reworked his connections and established a strategy to retake some power, but that wasn't a day-1 thing. He took L after L after L, many of them because of his arrogance and not taking Marlo seriously, before he dusted himself off and restablished what the King was supposed to be.

Fine, I'm saying murder is just part of the program, fighting for turf, intimidating witnesses, getting retribution for thieves. Having a commission sounds like it might reduce the rate but it will never eliminate it because the problems mentioned are always there. Plus, you are talking about all your illegal business activity problems in a forum. That opens you up to surveillance and snitching. As an individual in this game it would be detrimental.

Yeah things won't be perfect but it'll be better than what they were doing prior. More money and less attention from cops. What's not to love?

With a police organization as corrupt as Baltimore's it would take a long while before someone wonders why a bunch dudes are having meetings.

Exactly, now did being apart of a criminal commission increase the chances of catching this charge or decrease it?

what if u can do it with a secret society ? so if u get caught the police don't know u connected to a whole gang.

never mind that prolly wouldn't work:patrice::snoop:

who was prop joe connect? the greeks right? they might have been the smartest. them old cacs never got caught.:jbhmm:
The Greeks were working with the feds, giving up tips for the war on terror. They would have been locked up in season 2 but one of the feds tipped them off to the investigation and they ran back to...wherever (cuz they weren't even Greek:shaq:).

But yeah, they had to snitch to survive.
