Demaryius Thomas should be up there over Victor Cruz and Steve Smith.

I'd venture to say that by the middle of next year the top 5 is gonna be:

in no particular order
1.Calvin
2.AJ
3.Julio
4.Demaryius
5.Dez

Honestly, I don't think Demaryius is top 5 yet.

:to: I'm sorry it had to be you breh. He probably would have made it had Freeman not revert back to :trash: Freeman the past 4 weeks. And how do you have Dre over Green?

Vincent Jackson still has 69 receptions, 1,334 receiving yards, and 7 TDs:noah:

AJ Green, as great as he is, isnt as reliable as Andre Johnson (AJ Green is 6th in the league in dropped passes) with less targets coming his way then Dre.

You may be right but this dude is basically like Megatron-lite, and it's not because they both played at Tech. Like I said in the post he'll be top 5 by the middle of next year.

:birdman: Don't bring him up breh as a Raider fan. I can't believe we gave him a 5-year deal as a rookie before he even played a game :snoop:

:what: that's what people call Demaryius Thomas.

Oh, I can see a argument for him. I just don't think he is there yet. Do I think he can get there, for sure. Once you get past Calvin and Fitz you're splitting hairs with dudes tho.

Tho I do think VJaxs is criminally slept on.

:snoop: :dead: My bad, I thought you were talking about Darius-Heyward Bey. But, yea D-Thomas is definitely up there, but I would like to see if he can even be better next season if that's possible.

How long have you been watching football?

The rules that are in place now makes it a helluva lot easier to break these records..Tron is phenomenal, but I have seen better hands, route running, and YAC from a few other guys in his generation.

Matthew Stafford is a 2nd tier QB at best right now and he was able to damn near break an arguably GOAT Marino's record because of the new rules...

When Rice got the record, he did it in an era where QBs and WRs were getting decapitated on a daily basis and he did it against better competition...

I am not saying that Tron aint a beast because he is, but I've seen guys do it under more dire circumstances, and I've seen a couple of cats in his generation with a better overall skillset.....

Just my opinion

Stafford has so many yards because he has CJ and cause he's throwing it 700 times this season, that's why.

And stop with this "pass happy league" and "rule changes" bullshyt excuse to hate on modern players. The pass/run ratio has been similar for the last 2 decades

The pass ratio has remained above 54 percent since 1991. While many think the pass has really gone up dramatically in recent years, it is just not true.
During the 1994-96 seasons, teams threw the ball on 56.4 percent of all offensive plays.
During the 2009-11 seasons, teams threw the ball on 56.8 percent of all offensive plays.

The 2011 season (57.1% pass) saw huge passing numbers, but in terms of playcalling, it still trails the 1995 season (57.4% pass), which was the pass-happiest season in NFL history. Even the standard deviation in pass ratio for those seasons is close, with 4.51 for 1995, and 4.55 for 2011.

There was not a single team in 1995 that ran the ball more than they passed. Three teams last season — Houston, San Francisco and Denver — each ran more than they passed.

So when you hear someone say that “it’s now a pass-first league,” ask them where they were 20 years ago.

CHFF Super Study: the evolution of NFL pass-run ratio

It's funny because the season where rice set the record was the most pass happy in NFL history:usure:

When will people learn that you can substitute any receiver on the Broncos out and the numbers will still be the same. Peyton Manning develops pro bowl receivers.
