you guys overlooked when i said GIVE IT A DECADE!!! I swear most of y'all would have probably said the same thing about Reasonable Doubt when it first dropped about anyone being crazy calling it a classic, but it eventually went down as a lot of people's top 10, 10 years from now everyone is going to RANK this album higher than previously mentioned, i can GUARANTEE that! I just see it before some of you do. Sh*t, when Ready to Die dropped, people thought of it as a "Dope" album, no one was ranking it 5 mics till Big passed and as the years passed.

Edit.

It's goin be overhyped because the kids of today are going to overrate it, but they prolly never listened to RTD, or RD
and our generation doesn't overrate albums from Our era ? (80s babies) I never thought Harlem world would ever be considered vmclassic :skip:

and you guys might look at me with the :usure: face but think about it for a second.. 10 years from now when we look back, most of you will be ranking this album higher than what it is right now. It's just really a classic in the upmost perspective with the way the whole concept was executed flawlessly. I would have to say it beat out Ready to die as far as albums go.. and i'm the biggest biggie and Nas fan.
While I agree the album is decent, and grows on you. Its not an all time great
Black Album is better.

But you talking all time greats? Bruh, its a shame Albums get tossed around because others say it first.
Reasonable doubt was not considered even good by too many ppl, then Jigga said it was and now its repeated as such. But lets keep it real. Whats fukkin with this?

And then the next 2 albums they dropped was just more :wow:

Illmatic changed my life almost, so I rank it high. But this Mobb Album has aged better than anything so its #1 imo

You wanna talk about concepts, fukka Magna Carter with its Illuminati concepts, Liquid Swords concept is survival bruh

And I didn't even get into the West coast. Too Short, Tim Dogg, B Lynch Hung talkin bout the bay area and back down before 2pac said that line.
But who is qualified to speak on these things when speaking on ALL TIME :manny:
Not many I'd assume. You had to seek Hip-hop 20+yrs ago, it wasn't all in your face like it is today...

I've seen people on here mention this a couple of times - but I personally didn't start listening to rap until 2001, and I have never been a big Jay fan with his other albums, I never heard Jay say this (so that didn't influence my opinion), and yet I still have Reasonable Doubt ranked my #2 album of all time. Great flow, great lyricism, solid content, beats that compliment him perfectly, great choruses/female vocals, the whole album sounds very cohesive and all of the tracks go to together perfectly (nothing sounds out of place), and the tracks are solid from front to back - no garbage songs on it. Plus the whole album is just smooth as fukk.

When you niqqas gonna realise a "classic" isn't really about how much YOU like an album :pachaha:

This album will definitely be embraced as a classic in this generation

No. Its nearly impossible to top other legendary albums due to the climate they were released in. This ain't even better than follow the leader or dah shining or fukking 36 chambers. So no on ten years it'll probably be like stillmatic or the black album
