This is kinda unsettling for me. I go on zuvva and send hundreds buying all that beautiful clothing and these people have a problem with it? I try to always buy from African vendors when I buy african clothing. Well, I guess I'll have to think twice the next time I try to support them.

I literally can't think of anything AAs took from Africans besides dashikis, which was a 90s thing.

They honestly are just manufacturing shyt to be mad about.

You don't see AAs mad when Africans make hip hop or when slaves and Martin Luther King were played by Africans.

So it's bullshyt for them to turn around and accuse us of this shyt. I'm sure these nikkas are a small minority tho.

Yep, I recently bought a couple of dashikis because I always thought that they were beautiful and comfortable. I always get comments when I wear them but I don't wear them as a fad. I actually tried my best to buy them from African vendors but guess what, Every vendor that I researched purchased their dashikis from Asia:mindblown: Like wtf. I just went ahead and bought them from the hippie shop. They complaining but not even making the clothes that they say we're appropriating

Once again, what are Africans in America jealous of AA about? list these things.

And naijaworld? That's the best you could do? :mjlol: so every African is Nigerian to you huh? See, I'm not even sure if you're equip enough to go on a back and fourth.

keep telling yourself that

Africans for the most part are in here to get an education, make money, send some back home or go back to rebuild. They don't for the most part think of AAs at all because we're too busy being....you know..busy instead of worrying about trivial shyt like cultural appropriation and media validatio. Don't talk yourself too high just because of some scorn african feminist chick and some retweets. Nobody's thinking about you bruh.

Brother, that wouldn't be possible without the struggle of AAs.

Trust me on this, Africans at home do not think about AAs like that, very far from it.

This is what happens when buzz terms like "cultural appropriation" pick up on social media in the west. I dont use twitter but I became aware of a biafra hashtag a few days ago, got me watching this documentary so I could learn more about it. Anyway a lot of the continental nigerians were weighing in on it via twitter and it was pretty interesting seeing the different intense viewpoints. Then I see this what their cousins over here talking about :dwillhuh: folks be worried about the wrong thing.

All Diaspora cultures in my opinion are extensions of various African cultures in which we've all added our own distinct flares. From the tweets I've seen posted here it looks like girls lashing back for getting teased when they were in school. But that goes both ways, I went to elementary school with a few liberian girls who couldn't speak a lick of english (they spoke french). Fast forward to high school you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them and the American born girls, from style of dress all the way down to dialect/slang, and now they back reppin Africa hard..are they "appropriating" two cultures at once? :mjlol:

Honestly, this whole cultural appropriation thing is the new trend. It's like the black suburbanites twitter activist have learn the meaning and are all overcompensating. They're bored with themselves and are thinking "how can I get heard? I'm trying to eat and get on this wave too. Gotta get them followers up":troll: If shyt was really affecting them like it affects poor blacks, this new trend would be last thing they would tackle.
