All I listen to is African Hip Hop now. I don't listen to American rap bc Africa is killing it right now

It is but clearly a product of RnB. Most Afrobeats imo is the fusion of House music/Caribbean music/Rnb+Rap with the African drum/polyrhythms.
You are thinking of the modern iteration of Afrobeat.

The 'Soke' song from Burna Boy sounds like something Fela would do. It's straight up afrobeat.

And Fela himself would tell you he wouldn't exist without soul, funk, jazz, rnb. Soke is traditional sounding but it sounds like modern blues.
