This is exactly what our people need more of.
indigenous African mythology representing our African ancestry:salute:

I said this years ago. We diasporans need to create spec fiction that represents us.

Nigerians (whatever ethnicity) need to create spec fiction for Nigerians.
Sudanese need to create spec fiction for Sudanese.
Afro-Brazilians need to create spec fiction for Afro-Brazilians.
And so on.

The time of complaining, whining and bytching about it and asking for scraps and palette swaps is over.

Not feeling just feels like a the Last Airbender clone x anime-ish.

Lot of these projects, I only boost because they're Black.

But a lot if not most of them don't look good independent of representation.

The Miles Morales movies are the platinum standard of how to integrate, culture, representation, story telling, and art.

But it really can't be the reality that any type of Black/Black adjacent story needs MCU money to be done right.

In the backdrop are the infinite # of White (and Japanese/Korean/Chinese) shows that get made, and are horrible out the gate. And this is happening at all funding levels.

Just bought the iyanu books. I'll read through them then give them to the little girl.

Can't complain there's no content if you don't support. Gonna watch the show too.

The Nekayah Chronicles Issue #1

The Nekayah Chronicles is a sword-and-sorcery epic that follows Nekayah, a wandering sorceress with a shadowy past, as she battles sinister cults in a world corrupted by ancient, malevolent gods. With arcane prowess, and a burning secret, Nekayah seeks to bring down these dark powers that have twisted humanity’s fate for millennia. But her quest is more than righteous destruction—she serves her own mysterious benefactor who promises her the power to save her doomed people. Fans of classic adventure tales like Red Sonja, Imaro and Conan the Barbarian will be drawn into a world of brutal combat, eldritch magic, and dark conspiracies as Nekayah carves her way across an unforgiving land. You're invited to join the journey and help bring this tale to life.
